Division 35 hosted a night market at Cortez Park on February 26th. Both division 35 east and division 35 west came together to set up booths with food, drinks, and merch in order to raise money for clubs so they can sponsor their members to go to DCON. The February DCM was also part of this event.
I thought this event was pretty successful. There was a good turnout and the energy at this DCM/Night Market was really good. I thought that this fundraiser did help clubs raise money and allowed for them to bond with each other more, which would help them overall as a club. Additionally,

on their hearts, and many took an unconventional approach to stringing on the hearts as well. The garlands were donated to the San Dimas Community Hospital, and the event allowed key club to send love to patients and workers in hospitals. Overall, this event was a nice crafting and bonding event.
“The hearts of service was a great event! We had a great turn out and we were able to make around 30 garlands to donate to the hospital! It was super fun and I really enjoyed working with fellow key clubbers on different garlands!” - Joshua Santhirasegari, Charter Oak

OFFICER ELECTIONS By: Jenny Zhang, Bonita
A
Last month on February 9th, 2021, we hosted our officer election, where members all joined together to listen to the ambitious members who aimed to be elected president and vice president for our next term. We first released our officer application a month before the election date, on January 18th, urging members who are interested to sign up and continue the success of our club. A little less than two weeks later, on January 30th, the officer application was officially due. This allowed us to see which members are interested and have evaluations of their responses to the questions to have a first impression of their work ethics. Then came the day, on February 9th, where
16
we held Officer Elections where President and Vice President Candidates gave speeches to all members of our club. This not only gave us an idea of their goals for the future term, but it also gave the potential officers a chance to introduce and establish their position among the members, whom many will hopefully be joining our club for the next term again. It was an interesting event, for it was interesting hearing members’ ideas for the club, and to hear some mistakes and problems we might have overlooked during our term. All in all, it was a learning and fun experience for everyone. General member, Roxanne Dimaano, thought that “the officer election was a very
pleasant experience, seein how all the members and candidates decide the futu of our next term together.” After the election, we wrapped up the selection of new officers for our next term by hosting interviews f other positions of the club ( secretary, treasurer, editor, house of reps representativ on February 12th to Februa 13th, and finally, with great excitement and anticipatio we announced new board for the 2022-2023 term on February 18th! It was a fascinating experience to b a participant in this event, for not only did I learn more about key club, but it also brought us closer together, where we all contributed to the result of this product.

“My favorite part was being able to interact with people from my community as well as people on campus, in some cases reconnecting with friends through Key Club!” - EMELY GONZALES, NORTHVIEW
By: Emely Gonzalez, Northview
For the prior month, Northview hosted our general meeting, also beginning to discuss votings for cabinet members for the 20222023 term! We are so excited to see who is interested. Other than that we are also planning to contribute to our school Food Fair, helping fundraise for Key Club through boba! We also had a sweet Letters of Love event for friends and teachers on campus. We had our service event through Zoom, turning them in the following day to be delivered the following week. We are mainly focusing on preparations for the votings and letting our Ellies focus on their studying as AP Exams are around the corner.

“My favorite part was going to Fall Rally and the hype building up to it, which turned the whole experience into a core memory I will never forget!” - NOAH MOLINA, BONITA “My favorite part of this term was being able to go to Fall Rally for Key Club where I was able to meet new people and create everlasting memories.” - KELLY DO, BONITA
RECIATION NOGALES’ SERVICE EVENT On Wednesday, February 23rd, Nogales High School Key Club hosted an appreciation event for Nogales staff! The “Staff Appreciation Service Event” was held in the library on campus. Members came together to write thank you messages and letters
of appreciation to staff. Using markers, pens, and colored pencils, our members put together beautiful posters to show how much staff means to them. MARIANA
LOPEZ, MEMBER, STATES, “THE STAFF AT NOGALES DO SO MUCH EVERY DAY TO HELP US. IT
WAS A REALLY NICE EXPERIENCE TO BE ABLE TO SHOW THEM HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE ALL THAT THEY DO FOR US”. IT IS ALWAYS IMPORTANT TO SHOW THOSE WHO CARE FOR YOU HOW MUCH YOU CARE FOR THEM! THANK YOU, STAFF!”

Hi Hilary/Mom! You knew this was coming:) I just wanted to say that you have been an amazing mentor, IP LTG, role model, and inspiration to me throughout the time that I have known you. However, above all else I have always been proud and honored to call you my friend. Thank you so much for always being there for me when I felt lost and confused. It must have been annoying answering so many of my questions and listening to me rant while balancing all of the other things you do in your life as well. I’m always amazed by your performance and how passionate you are for each and every thing that you do. Your endless dedication to everything never ceases to impress me and inspire me to do the same with everything I juggle in my life as well. I’ve written about you being my role model THREE times in my English journal now and I just wanted to say that I know you will do amazing things in the future. Make sure to keep in touch and I’ll definitely text you questions?!?!? Thank you so much again for the wisdom and guidance you have given me. I love you from the bottom of my heart and we should hang out soon! <333 Love, Your child Marcus

“My favorite part of the 2021-2022 term was getting to spend time at events and meetings with my sister and my brother. I enjoyed spending time with the club not only for my friends best because I got to see my brother be a leader and see what everyone looks to him for. I get to see my brother be president once more and tell me what to do before he graduates and goes to college. But other than that I enjoyed the events like the night market and getting to meet other people from other schools and do the fun services for others, and really get to see what key club is all about, which is why I will join next term and put a bit more effort into my contributions to the club.” - KYLE REYNALDO, NOGALES
