Howdy Elephants! Let me start off by saying that I've never been so proud to serve a division. We brought the spirit stick back for the first time in 4 years. This is a monumental moment in the history of Division 35 East and you all contributed to it by attending all of our Pre-Fall Rallies and bringing all your spirit to the session. We have also raised over $12,260 for the Pediatric Trauma Program along with serving over 9,077 hours by November! You serving those countless hours, participating in all those fundraisers, and just being the perfect model of a Key Clubber brought us to this point. Division 35 East truly is the best and thank you all for allowing me to serve you all once again. But now that Fall Rally is over, please remember that there is so much more to Key Club than just Fall Rally. Many people tend to stop attending events after Fall Rally but I promise you that there is so much more left within Key Club. There are countless socials, service events, and fundraisers left even after Fall Rally. After Fall Rally, there are so many more hyped events that you can enjoy so please make sure to continue attending. Division 35 East, thank you once again for allowing me to be in this position and I promise to serve you with my fullest effort all the way to the end of this term. See you all again soon!

Fall Rally... We won that spirit stick!!! Thank you to everyone in our division who made my Fall Rally experience so memorable. The night before, Michele and I did not get any sleep! We stayed up with a lot of other DLT members to make sure everything was prepared for the next day. The most stressful time was making sure we got the spot we wanted at the Golden Bear Theatre but everything worked out as planned with the help of our Spirit Scouts and DLT. I was really nervous because everything Michele and I worked for the past six months was going to be condensed into one hour! However, hearing everyone be synchronized with the cheers made me feel so relieved and proud. When we found out that we won, Michele and I just broke into tears. It was the first time we won in 4 years!! Thank you Division 35 East for putting your time into going to Pre-Fall Rallies, practicing and memorizing the cheers. You guys make me so proud. Head Spirit Task Coordinator/ Walnut Tech Editor, Annika Le
Fall Rally 2019 was a very exciting experience. I had the opportunity to witness our first spirit stick win in 4 long years, a memory that I will cherish forever. I had the opportunity to see the fruits of our fundraising, seeing as we raised over $12k for PTP!! I got the chance to walk around the park and meet so many new people from throughout our district, and even got to meet up with some of my internet friends! It was my first time leading a bus, which was stressful when we were missing people at the end of the night. Overall, even though planning with our DLT and coordinating with our chaperones was difficult, it was truly worth it to see the happy faces of all our elephant-astic members throughout the day! I will definitely be back next year, and those of you reading this should go too!!

Fall Rally South is always an amazing and magical experience, and this year was no exception. It was extra special because we were able to obtain the spirit stick for the first time in four years!! And raise more than 12k for PTP! The hard work up until FRS had led up to those moments. In addition, I got to meet new people, and also got to experience it with my key club family. There is just something about Fall Rally that brings people together and I am so grateful for everyone in key club who's contributed to the magic of FRS! Thank you Division 35 East for all your hard work and ambition this term and let's continue to make history! Inter-Club Coordinator / Charter Oak Vice President, Hilary Wong
Fall Rally South 2019 (I refer to it as “Fally”), once again, has left me speechless. This was my second Fally and I must say that it was one of my year’s highlights. I was able to show my friends why I love and cherish Key Club. The most important takeaway was being able to meet so many new Key Clubbers from different divisions with the same burning passion for PTP as me. Even though our divisions have different cheers, we all had the same goal of raising money and awareness for Key Club. Our division didn’t fail to impress me by raising over $12,000. My favorite part of the rally was when we “auctioned” off our LTGs and District Executive Officers for PTP donations because our division was able to donate so much. Our achievements couldn’t have been possible without our dedicated members, charitable Kiwanians, or diligent officers. I’m looking forward to next year’s Fally with even more Key Clubbers and donations! Diamond Bar Tech Editor, Nicholas Yu With spirit and anticipation in the air, our South Hills Key Club members went above and beyond to serve and learn the cheers that ultimately helped our division win the Spirit Battle! This year, we had a lot of members attend Fall Rally, and each and every one of them cheered their hearts out at our rally session. “It felt pretty surreal and exciting seeing how enthusiastic South Hills Key Club was at Fall Rally, since it’s such a different environment from school,” said South Hills Vice President and Division Spirit Task Coordinator, Michele Lam. “I was really proud to see so many members get out of their comfort zone to interact with other Key Clubbers and be super spirited!” South Hills Newsletter Editor, Alexis Gomez

On October 20, 2019, Rowland Key Clubbers attended AIDS Walk, an event located in Los Angeles where everyone is welcome to take a stance against AIDS by walking a specific route. Volunteers arrived at Rowland before 8:30 in order to get on the bus that will take them to Grand Park. Chaperoned by a beloved teacher, Ms. Chiang, they arrived safely, ready to stride. Several organizations, such as Target and Honda, served as sponsors for the event and represented themselves with booths all over the park. A few celebrities and city officials also attended the event, thanking people for supporting the fight against AIDS. After joining the Division, we were led by Daniel Min, the Key Club LTG of the 2019-2020 term. As we walked, several other volunteers from different organizations kindly handed out water and snacks, making the walk much more pleasing. Those who were not assigned the job of providing food and water cheered for walkers and encouraged them to push on. While walking, Key Clubbers chanted cheers well known throughout the division, representing the pride and spirit the club so greatly emphasizes. After the walk was over, other volunteers handed out certificates congratulating people for finishing the walk. While this event did not require heavy labor or specific job duties, AIDS Walk gave us Key Clubbers the chance to show that we care for the end of AIDS and that it is a serious problem that must be eradicated. Thanks to all who came!

On October 25th, the Vejar Harvest Festival took place at Vejar Elementary School in Walnut, California. Volunteers mainly took over the game booths and let young kids have the opportunity to win prizes. I hosted the event and and saw many young elementary students excited to play games. There were food trucks, music, fall decorations, etc. I worked with the staff in charge of the entire event, making sure that every volunteer had a job to do in regards to helping the kids have as much fun as possible. Observing this event made me feel accomplished in making the students feel welcomed and energetic.

On October 4th and 11th, members of Northview Key Club volunteered at the CVUSD district field snack bar. Along with members of the PTA, we helped set up the snack bar and later helped give the customers the snacks they asked for. This was a good experience, because although it was a busy night, we were all able to get a glimpse of what it was like being a store employee. At the next football game, we took advantage of the opportunity and sold esquites. It was thankfully a very successful fundraiser and we hope to have another esquite fundraiser soon.
