LETTER FROM THE LTG ELECT

Dear Division 35 East,

My name is Chloe Hartanto and I will be serving as your next Lieutenant Governor for the 2022-2023 term! I hope you guys are doing well and I can’t wait to work with you guys next term! It’s been a crazy year. I am so incredibly thankful to be able to serve as your next Lieutenant Governor. I’d never thought I would ever be where I am today and I’m so excited for what’s to come. A year ago, I told myself I would never run for Lieutenant Governor, but talking to you guys and learning more about each and every one of you really helped push me to run. It’s because of you guys that I have been able to grow into the person I am today. I’ve loved meeting more and more of you this term, and I can’t wait to meet even more next term. Thank you guys for believing in me and I promise I won’t let you down! L-O-V-E I LOVE MY D-I-V

CONCLAV

In the beginning of the month, covina had an officer meeting discussing the upcoming events we wanted to introduce to our members in our general meeting on the 11th of February. Some upcoming events that were being planned were a huge fundraiser at our school, Food Frenzy, giving us an opportunity to be able to sell boba for our upcoming banquet. Other events included officer applications and a service event that we are currently figuring out. Speaking of officer applications coming out,

we also had a lot of members attending Conclave for Covina. This was really exciting because we broke the record having more than 2 members attending Conclave for the first time. Many members enjoyed this experience and were thrilled to see such amazing speeches. One key club member, Lanna Ho, had a lot to say about their first ever experience in conclave. Here’s what Lanna had to say about the experience: “Conclave was a learning experience that

I am glad to ha I’ve learned ho when running th it’s certainly a n things. I also lik a safe space fo everyone was r the speaker. O event that I’m h participated in again.”

TRIPLE SERVICE :) 1) APPRECIATION LETTERS 2) REUSABLE BAGS 3) COLOR-A-SMILE

In January, we hosted an online service event called the service triathlon event. In this event, members wrote APPRECIATION LETTERS to healthcare workers, created REUSABLE BAGS, and did COLOR-ASMILE. Through the online service triathlon event, members were able to express their gratitude toward the healthcare workers, who have been working day and night for our community to have a much better protection against the viruses and other fatal “blows” and revive us from the dying and the dead. With great thanks, we all dedicated

our time and effort to make their days a little brighter, to show them that the people they have helped with are aware of their efforts, and therefore we hope that it can motivate them when they feels down and sad and need a sign to show them that they’re doing the right thing, and that they’re saving a lot of lives that would’ve been abandoned and smiles that would otherwise be forgotten.

From this activity, we bonded together where we all shared the same appreciation toward the healthcare workers, and the creativity of every individual members are truly stunning, where they all captured exactly their feelings toward the whiterobed soldiers, and their efforts showed that we all Joelle Huang, the president care about them as much of Bonita Key Club, said, as they care about us. “I thought that holding this event was a great way for

By: Emely Gonzalez, Northview For the prior month, we started off the month with a Care Packages for Healthcare Workers event, where students and members filled a box with little things that would be useful for healthcare workers. These included hand sanitizer, snacks, lip balm, gum, and a sweet Thank You note. We then hosted our very awaited Member

In addition, we are also planning our election/officer workshop for members or people interested in being part of next term’s cabinet!

GALES O N

CLUB RUSH From January 18th to January 21st, Nogales High School Key Club participated in Club Rush. All of the High School club’s gathered throughout the week with a goal of promoting involvement in the school community. Every club had a table and Key Club’s set up included a trifold explaining information about the club and a fun photo opportunity.

The Club Rush allowed the club to gain new members passionate about service and community. Fatima Chavoya, a new member to the club, states, “Club rush was an amazing way to get involved with your community and your school!” Club Rush was an amazing opportunity for Key Club to spread its message and acquire an amazing new set of members.
