LETTER FROM LTG
I hope that you are enjoying the first few weeks of your summer! While some of us just got out of school, many have been partying in the sun for several weeks already. I look forward to seeing you all at Division events soon (OTC, July DCM, etc.). The summer is an optimal time to meet and complete inter-club events and get to know your fellow Narwhals! I challenge each of you to attend at least one event with another Key Club school present, be it a division event such as OTC or a DCM or an inter-club event organized by your amazing officer team. Some great ideas for service projects include: beach-cleanups, homeless kitchens, or DIY goods to donate to local organizations. The Spotlight on Service Project (SOSP) for the month of July is "Go Outiside", so weather the trek into the wildnerness and get in touch with nature! Have an amazing summer, Narwhals and I can't wait to see the work that you all complete! See you at the July DCM on July 16!

CLUB RECAP Simi Valley Street Fair In the 2016 Simi Valley Street Fair, Royal High School Key Clubbers volunteered at the Wag N’ Walk booth in order to promote the event that was upcoming in September. Volunteers immediately helped set up the booth in order to get ready for the fair. At the booth, volunteers helped give out information on the 11th Annual Wag N’ Walk while also displaying a poster of adoptable dogs and information on them as well. - Timothy Ho, 11th Grade
Kiwanis BBQ I volunteered along with Diane and Bianca at the Kiwanis Picnic/BBQ fundraiser celebrating 25 years of National Cancer Survivor’s day in Thousand Oaks. I had a great time facepainting (I face-painted a green snake on a really cute little boy) and helped sweeping the kitchen. I also met some new people who came from Agoura. Agou Overall great time! - Austin Gilbert,12th Grade
End of the Year Party Westlake High School key clubs last meeting was fun and was a nice conclusion to a great and productive year. The members celebrated each other's hard work and hours with pizza and cookies. Then every member was presented with a certificate of their membership and recognition of hours ranging from 50,75 and 100 hours. Various members were rewarded for their commitment and dedication to key club with special awards. Overall, it was a great time to wrap up the year. -Mominah Subhan, 10th grade
Emanuel Church Volunteering Working to feed the homeless at Emmanuel Church to me was one of the most amazing and sentimental events that I have ever participated in. This event was held at the Emmanuel Church in Thousand Oaks and our job was not only to serve food to thehomeless, but also to keep them company as well as we served them. This event was a very fun experience for me because while we served them we talked to them, they told us stories about their lives and past experiences and we also shared many laughs as well. li Overall, working to serve the homeless helped me connect more to the people of my community and also gave me a chance to give back to my community as well. I can’t wait for the next time we have privilege to serve the homeless again.
