The link with the striking Flatiron Building wasn’t difficult to make. “In the original plans, the tower still had an envelope-shaped design, but the available site ended in a point that, offered peerless views across the city and the Amstel. Moreover, everyone with arranging a new mortgage must pay off the entire borrowed amount over the course of the maturity in order to become entitled to mortgage rate deductions. With leasehold, you only pay the ground-rent whilst retaining the right to tax deduction. Just as with your mortgage rate, which means that your monthly costs are lower and your credit rating (usually) increases. As with a mortgage, the leasehold ground-rent must be determined for a specific period (1, 10 or 25 years).
