Doch nun ist aus dem viralen Liebling ein echtes Produkt geworden. reisinger.studio Hydrangeas are long-lasting blooms – and it would appear Andrés Reisinger took note of their lifespan for his Hortensia Chair. After his 3D rendering became a hit on Instagram and orders started coming in, the Argentinean designer spent months looking for production teams, and it seemed that the idea of turning thousands of fabric petals into an armchair was too complicated. But the viral sensation is now a real product.

Wie schlau ist Ihr Zuhause? HOW CLEVER IS YOUR HOUSE? Technik macht unser Leben komfortabler – ein Grund, warum SmartHome-Produkte in immer mehr Haushalte einziehen. Auf der CES in Las Vegas, dem Trendbarometer für Unterhaltungselektronik, zeigte sich im Januar: Digitale Sprachassistenten werden Standard, wandern in Lautsprecher im Duschkopf oder im Bett sowie in Systeme, die Heizung und Licht steuern. Andere neue Produkte kommen dem Bedürfnis nach Sicherheit nach, etwa Türöfner, die via Fingerabdruck entsperrt werden, oder Haustüren, die biometrische Daten scannen. Smart! Technology makes our lives more convenient – one reason why smart home products can be found in more and more households. The CES in Las Vegas in January, a trend barometer for consumer electronics, revealed that digital voice assistants are becoming standard, making their way into speakers in shower heads and beds, as well as systems that control heating and lighting. Other new products fulil security requirements, such as door openers that can be unlocked via ingerprint, or front doors that scan biometric data. Smart!

It’s something only Peter Lindbergh could ask for: the star photographer had around 100 precious couture creations from the Dior archive shipped to New York, where they were worn by models on Broadway and captured through his lens. Lindbergh collaborated with the Parisian fashion house countless times, and now his work on showcasing 70 years of the Dior story will be his inal oeuvre – and this superb cofee table book his legacy.

Unsere Gene bewerten also den Gang ins Büro nicht als besonders attraktiv. Doch ein neuer Trend verspricht Abhilfe: Biophilic Design holt die Natur ins Haus, um die Lebensqualität zu verbessern – ob im Oice oder daheim. Fensterblicke ins Freie oder vertikale Gärten gehören dazu, Geräusche aus der Natur, biomorphe Formen bei Mustern und Möbeln, aber auch schwankende Licht-, Temperatur- und Luftverhältnisse. Diese reizen unsere Sinne so unregelmäßig, wie wir es von draußen kennen. Und das ist, was uns erwiesenermaßen gesünder, glücklicher und entspannter macht.
Strictly speaking, a large part of our life is unnatural considering that throughout evolution, we spent 99.9% of our time outdoors. This means we don’t rate the oice corridor as being all that appealing. But a new trend promises to help: biophilic design brings nature inside to improve quality of life, be it at the oice or at home. Views out the window into the open or vertical gardens, sounds from nature and biomorphic shapes in patterns and furniture are all part of it, but so are luctuating light, temperature and air conditions. These stimulate our senses in an irregular way that we recognise from being outside, and that’s what has been proven to make us healthier, happier and more relaxed.
