Pleasant Grove Mayor’s Message

Hindsight is 2020! We are done with that historic year and are ready to move on. I just want to take a moment to tell everyone how grateful I am we all made it through last year; it was a tough one. Although, it did become readily apparent how many heroes we have in our community.

Isn’t it amazing we were able to keep our facilities open, albeit in a different fashion? Thank you to the many employees at the Recreation Center who were constantly on their toes abiding by the ever-changing restrictions and regulations. From the online streaming classes to the adaptations of their programs, we were still able to keep the recreation facility functioning in some capacity.

We were fortunate to have our pool open for the summer. The library staff also showed ingenuity by moving their story time adventures online. Many children are still able to enjoy these engaging activities in the comfort of their own homes.

They have also established a clean and safe way to check out library books for the community with flexible hours and accommodations.

Our fire and police department had a busy summer with most notably the fire on the mountain. Many hands were involved in battling that, and we thank all of you. The public works department stepped up like they always do when we had unusual events transpire this year.

They proved to us we are in good hands. Together, we are going to move forward as a city and have a great big 100-year Strawberry Days Celebration. We are going to make up for what we missed last year. We have some great projects in store this year and are optimistic for a wonderful 2021. Thanks for your support!
