Chamber Chair Message
When I was first assigned to be on the board of the Chamber, I wasn’t even sure of the purpose of the Chamber of Commerce. As a Pleasant Grove City Planning Commissioner at the time, I knew we needed to communicate and understand the needs of the businesses, but beyond that, I had so much to learn.
I was first impressed by the motto of the Pleasant Grove-Lindon Chamber of Commerce: “Relationships Matter.” As I met members and learned more, I was inspired by how the business owners were interested in strengthening and supporting each other in their goals. I have gained a better understanding of marketing, finances, management and leadership from the other chamber members. As a home-based business owner and employee of Pleasant Grove City, my membership in the Chamber of Commerce has positively impacted my career and my family.

Whether it is a golf tournament, awards ceremony, Lunch and Learn or networking opportunity, we plan with purpose. Seeing that caring and collaboration can thrive even amidst healthy business competition is refreshing in a world that can seem selfish and divided. So much that goes on in the world is out of our control, but being a part of an organization dedicated to strengthening each other and our community is meaningful and makes a difference in our corner of the world.
A big focus of the chamber is working together to give back to our Pleasant Grove and Lindon communities. One of our newest traditions is a silent auction that raises funds to give back to the youth in our community. As the prevention coordinator for Pleasant Grove City, I research the issues affecting our youth and understand the protective power of a strong and unified community.
I am proud to be a part of this organization. The Pleasant Grove-Lindon Chamber strives to be an example of teamwork and truly embodies the phrase “Relationships Matter.”
Tamara Oborn Chair, Board of Directors Pleasant Grove-Lindon Chamber of Commerce
