Little Miss Strawberry Days

Little Miss Strawberry Days is an amazing experience for young girls in our community. It gives them the opportunity to serve alongside the Miss Pleasant Grove Royalty and participate in the many activities of Strawberry Days as well as other events throughout the year.

This contest began in the early years of Strawberry Days. In the beginning, photos of Little Miss Strawberry Days participants were put up around town. The citizens would vote for their favorite contestant with pennies.

The criteria for participation have changed a bit since the days of “penny” voting. Today, each contestant must write a one-page essay specific to a theme. The essay must be in the words and language of the participant. Typically, there are more than 35 contestants that turn in essays based on the theme for that year.

The essays are read and chosen by an independent panel of judges who are looking for attention to the theme, originality and creativity.

Members of the 2021 Little Miss Strawberry Days Royalty are: Paisley Petersen, daughter of Christopher and Brittani Petersen; Brynlee Contreras, daughter of Matias and Joshalyn Contreras; Zoey Fullen, daughter of Brian and Trisha Fullen; Adalie Hardman, daughter of Josh Hardman and Adrianne Hardman; and Kenadie Petersen, daughter of Mark and Kelly Petersen.

These young women have served our community with great energy and attitudes!

The 2022 Little Miss Strawberry Days winners were announced at the Miss Pleasant Grove competition on April 16, 2022, too late for this printing. Look for them as they serve Pleasant Grove during Strawberry Days and throughout 2022.
