Lindon Mayor’s Message
I am very excited for all the positive opportunities and events that are unfolding here in our wonderful city of Lindon. As a new mayor, I am grateful to really see the inside workings that keep our city services and amenities going at such a high level on a daily basis.
I wish each citizen could know just how our amazing quality of life is maintained and enhanced because of the incredible hard work that staff and community volunteers bring to our community. From public works employees, who plow snow or fix broken water lines in the middle of the night so we may have our roads and showers available when we need to get ready for and travel to work and school, to senior center staff and volunteers who served more than 14,770 drive-through meals during the COVID pandemic, we truly live in a fantastic community.

In an increasingly distracting digital world, one of the most important initiatives in 2022 is to continue developing our youth by building character, providing leadership and service opportunities, and encouraging love of community. We recently highlighted artwork representing more than 100 students who learned about and drew one of 12 character traits or values. These are now available as a free, printed calendar that can be picked up at the city center.
Our Little Miss Lindon and Junior Rodeo Royalty provide amazing service and assist at charitable drives and events throughout the year. In March, our police department kicked off the first-ever Youth Police Academy where young people learned about all aspects of law enforcement. These youth will be helping with various upcoming events.
I am excited to announce we will begin a Lindon City Youth Council this May. Look for more information to come about that soon! In addition, Lindon will have its own Farmers Market beginning this summer in which youth entrepreneurs can have a free booth selling their homemade and homegrown goods.
Finally, although there is much to celebrate, we all are concerned about sad events happening around the world as well as the inflation and economic impacts being felt by all families. Please know that your city council, mayor and staff take the responsibility to keep Lindon safe, well-managed and financially sound very seriously. Strategically looking forward to maintain our core infrastructure and services as well as supporting our businesses are key factors in the health of our local economy and the health and well-being of our citizens.
As we intentionally support one another, whether it is through buying local, volunteering, mentoring youth or living lives of good character, we can truly be blessed by greater relationships and connection.
Thank you to the Pleasant Grove-Lindon Chamber of Commerce for this magazine and its mission to build a better community.
