Chamber Quarterly Workshops When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and people were unable to meet together, the Spanish Fork Salem Chamber of Commerce moved its meetings online. Part of this included holding various trainings in the virtual environment. The training meetings were a success, and when chamber members began meeting together again, the chamber board decided to continue these efforts in person. Thus began the chamber’s Quarterly Workshops, held once every three months to assist members in accessing training and finding resources. “The Quarterly Workshops were set up as a kind of mini continuing education course where you can come and learn about different aspects of business,” said Rand Kaufman, chair of the chamber’s board of directors. Topics so far have included utilizing social media for business marketing, emergency planning in the business environment, leadership and how businesses can become involved in the community. The chamber brings in professionals in the various areas being addressed to teach the
workshops. The Quarterly Workshops are open to the public; the cost is $25 for members of the chamber and $35 for nonmembers. Kaufman said the chamber has had attendees who have been able to solve problems and makes positive changes

in their businesses with the information they’ve received during the workshops. “We know there’s a need for these classes, and sometimes it’s hard for businesses to find out on their own where they can learn about these things,” Kaufman said. “We want to provide that for them.”
