Cath Kidston The Brief
Cath Kidston wanted a new print designing for their stock; they wanted it to be able to be used across a range of different products, from household products to women’s accessories. This comforting and homely print was inspired by the British Bulldog. Having a dog friendly pattern is in tune with the Cath Kidston brand, being feminine but not too cute. An original theme makes this print unique in its visual style.

Colour Variations
What really stood out in the brief was the dedication to being British, and making sure that the print reflects the English heritage. This is why I decided to use the British bulldog as my illustrations, and used the colours of the union jack in my print. The colours used are bold with a distinctive palette and work well together.

Product Range
The target audience is for women age 29 who are moving out into her own home for the first time. The print has been designed to be used across a range of products. From women’s accessories to household goods, it is a very versatile print, that is appropriate for the audience.
