HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
HYPERDRIVE DESIGN is a brand new concept incorporating multiple aspects of technology in reel design to deliver a baitcast reel with few peers. It consists of four key pillars: HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR is the next evolution of baitcast gear design, taking Daiwa’s Digigear concept to the next level to produce a smoother and stronger reeling sensation with a significant 60% improvement to gear durability. HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT improves the support of the pinion gear. This support in turn helps to extend gear life and increase winding power under load. HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH is a redeveloped thumb bar design which is more durable and stronger than previous variations. HYPER ARMED HOUSING is the use of Magnesium or Aluminium frame and gear side plate design which holds everything in perfect alignment. Daiwa’s HYPERDRIVE DESIGN brings a new generation of baitcaster to the anglers of today with unparalleled rigidity, strength and smoothness.
Daiwa’s revolutionary TWS (T-Wing System) addresses the issue of traditional line guide/level wind systems constricting line flow by delivering a T-shaped line guide that is larger, wider and less restrictive. TWS allows line to exit freely from the spool with minimal line angle, minimal friction and constriction, thereby reducing line noise and backlash, and delivering more accurate and longer casts.
Daiwa’s Hyper Long Cast super-tuned cast control system has been designed for optimum casting performance with the spool rotor modified to minimise rotor braking to maximise spool rotation and casting distance of heavier lures and baits. COMPACT TOUGH-CT compact body has been achieved by equipping a new 30/32mm diameter CT SV spool. The CT SV spool which has very low start-up inertia has realised a feel in the cast that surpasses reels of the past, covering the range of finesse applications as well as versatile.
The SV CONCEPT spool was designed to prevent backlashing and promote easy casting whether it is a lightweight lure or heavier big bait lure. The SV Spool is composed of G1- Duralumin material with a diameter of 34mm for a much faster rotation and greater strength. SV CONCEPT with its lightweight spool and high precision design improves spool rotation and braking.
MAGSEALED BALL BEARING BOOST SYSTEM
MAGSEALED protection is no longer just for the main shaft and rotor of a reel with MAGSEALED Ball Bearings providing ultimate protection for the most at risk location such as the engine sideplate and line roller.
HLC CONCEPT
BOOST is a brand-new two-braking system which significantly increases casting distance in the latter part of the casting sequence. The twostage design delivers the precise amount of braking resistance at each stage of the cast.
CT CONCEPT/CT SV-SPOOL
ATD
Daiwa’s ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia resulting in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.
ZAION
A high-density and lightweight carbon resin material, ZAION resists corrosion, and exceeds the strength of traditional reel body materials such as magnesium and alloy.
UTD
Ultra smooth low drag inertia with ultimate fish stopping power. UTD combines advanced carbon washers, alloy and stainless steel drag plates with specially designed grease for ultra-smooth performance.
MAGFORCE V/Z
Magforce combines the best aspects of modern magnetic and centrifugal braking. Reels are easily tuned to cast a large range of weights with ease simply by adjusting the Magforce dial on the side of the reel.
TOUGH DIGIGEAR
A further evolution of its predecessor Digigear, Tough Digigear is our digitally designed gearing system that ensures ultimate gear precision, rotational smoothness, and strength.
SPEED/ZERO SHAFT
Unlike some baitcaster spools that have the spool supported by the pinion gear and drive shaft, Speed Shaft is solely supported by bearings. This allows for friction free spool rotation and optimum casting performance.
