Dakar Interactive in coordination with Compton High School Science Department will conduct the second in a series of STEAM Event prior to Veterans Day weekend. The event will promote the cross connection between Students and Veterans in their quest to be placed in STEM related careers while providing stewardship to their respective local communities.
The event will showcase Compton High’s capability to share its curriculum and lesson plan developed by Heal The Bay to other high classrooms around the world how to a protect a Los Angeles Watershed called “Compton Creek”. The showcase will use Livestream, Instagram, Facebook and twitter, and Google Hangout to share and personalize student’s exposure to environmental science while encouraging others in the educational realm to duplicate partnerships with institutions such as Heal the Bay, U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers, and Friends Of the LA River. The demonstration of social media for good will be the underlying theme. Special Guest-MC
