Bašcaršija is heart and soul of Sarajevo. It was built in the 15th century. It was the merchant, cultural and spiritual center of the town. The prettiest monuments from the Ottoman period are located here: Begova mosque and a Clock tower, Ferhadija and Bašcaršijska mosque, Moricahan, Husrev-bey’s and Brusa bezistan.
