SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing a steady, sustained inflow of grant and donated funding, services, and goods that arrive from a balanced roster of donors which should include significant representation from: High-net worth private donors, corporations, government and foundational grants, institutions, state and local giving entities, events, and grass roots campaigns. The Director of Major Gifts is responsible for designing and executing a systematic donor outreach plan and corresponding process(es) in collaboration with the CEO, President and Board of Directors. In addition, the Director of Major Gifts will develop a robust and healthy relationship with all outreach, linkage and Alumni support activities so that every mutual endeavor can be leveraged and utilized as efficiently as possible. All representations of Above and Beyond must be conducted with a level of endearing professionalism that serves to build the reputation of Above and Beyond in a manner acceptable to the Board of Directors, CEO and President. These job requirements may change, according to the needs of the organization and the strategies of the CEO or President so a high degree of flexibility will be necessary in the execution and administration of this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Major Gifts is expected to be proficient at creating compelling presentations for different types of donors, and to personally represent Above and Beyond impressively. Will establish and report on all new, qualified significant donor sources per week, from a balance of source stream potentials. Will establish a regular, well-rounded scheduled and publicly calendared series of meetings which represent a wide spectrum of donation sources. Must develop and maintain as current, a verifiable bi-weekly Google calendar of all appointments so that all personnel that interact with the Director can be aware of activities. Must monitor the company Calendar to be aware of all company meetings which are considered mandatory unless excused by the CEO or President because of development duties. A database of contacts must be developed and maintained from the start of employment which captures donor and potential donor names, addresses, phones, emails as well as abbreviated but accurate detail regarding visits, meetings, mailings, attempted meetings, and phone conversations. Will be responsible for the Annual Fundraising Gala in an oversight role to make certain that all positions are filled, and steps are being taken according to the timeline that the Director has developed, with the participation and approval of the CEO or President and Board of Directors.
