Al caminar por algunos barrios de Buenos Aires es muy posible encontrar sin esfuerzo un bar para sentarse a tomar un café y una librería donde revisar estantes y encontrar esa publicación que le acompañará en los próximos días. También hay varios lugares que unen ambas costumbres, en los cuales puede llevar el libro a la mesa para darle una hojeada. La capital argentina es la ciudad del mundo con más librerías por habitante: tiene 467, la mayoría en zonas como el Microcentro, Recoleta y San Telmo. Y ninguna es igual a la otra. Las hay especializadas en libros antiguos o de segunda mano, en ciencias sociales, artes o nuevos autores y las de editoriales independientes. También están aquellas que sorprenden por su arquitectura.
