CONCLUSION:

FACTUAL AND FICTIONAL OVERLAP!!!

Question: Why do factual and fictional need to overlap in media today?

Reasons to blend fact and fiction in media: 

To feed audience’s/readers’ hunger for sensationalism

To make some events less boring (reproduction of some events in dialogues) or more explicit (e.g. reconstructions of crimes in some documentary etc) for the audience/readers.

To entertain the audience( e.g. films)

The basic aim of the media is to attract audience and they do

that by influencing people. Watch the following film about the media influence on the audience and fill in handout number 1. Work in groups. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvgURfZMGoQ&feature=related
