Working alongside the Cabin Fever VM & In-store trends, the organic lifestyle has also influenced menswear this Autumn Winter. Anticipate high quality, comfortable pieces, with the intentions to last. Natural fibres, biological colour variations and a lot of plaid, form an earthy botanical colour palette that will bring the stimulation of the outdoors into our everyday lives. You can smell the wood from here.

Its all in the details. Taking a step back from fast fashion, next season its about practicality and craftsmanship. Expect waterproof materials and breathable fabrics, the emphasis being on substance whilst staying true to style. A nod to heritage and an appreciation for tailoring can be seen in the high performance pieces.

When considering the design of the report, we looked to Pinterest to find inspiration. We found that classic and minimal designs often were more effective in displaying information. Our research also showed us that we wanted to include as many images and variations of techniques and textures, to build an effective representation of our trends in context of the fashion world. With this in mind, we opted for a simplistic design with each trend spreading across 3 pages; a title page and trend summary, a key image that illustrates the trend with our colour palettes and a final collage page that visualizes the cultural aspects of our trend forecasts. As we have targeted our trend report towards trend forecasters, we wanted to show an understanding of the cultural influences and examples from the art world to support our predictions. We decided on a concertina and belly band style for our printing prototype, with the intention to get our potential consumer engaging and interacting with our report. This binding option also compliments the simplistic and informative manner of our trend report.
