Do Good Design As future designers you have a disproportionately large influence in these three areas: 1) How messages intended to influence the behavior of large audiences are selected, crafted, and delivered 2) How people are portrayed and represented visually 3) How raw materials for designed objects (such as the paper for this lesson) are consumed

People are generally represented visually as most beautiful as they are afraid people will not consummate. Designer used Photoshop to make more thin model. In the ideal for do good design we needed to represent visually all people even the minority maintain their appearence. L’oreal was accused to makes more white Beyonce for example. I know and I understand problems that there are in design about anorexia. So I think that it’s important to represent people just as there are, and not make people more thin in Photoshop, but I also think that if we saw big people in magazine anorexic people can also become more anorexic. There is always problems if we think to do good design for everyone. So to avoid this question I think that in future I will make illustrations or just take picture of fauna and flora. Indeed I don’t think that I could influence a flower if I decided to represent it in blue whereas it is yellow.
/01 When I have to do a project, I ask a friend who doesn’t known the brief to know his reaction about that what I made. It allows me to have a different view about my project and I can see what people think and how they receive the message that I want to express. I learned how we can influence peoples emotions in a film, with some simple rules. For example when you see a close-up focus on a detail as a face, it’s to give more emotion to the film. In the same way as a general plan with only one person in a landscape gives an impression of lonelyness. There is also some meaning with the direction left and right, and with the fact that two people was film with an effect of simultaneity. In packaging there is also some simple rules with the colour that is used. Indeed colour attract people but not only. Colour have also an impact on our emotions. And also the simplest solution of a brief is often the most effective, because for example a simple logo who makes people smile helps to memorise a brand. In the second time design was crafted firstly with a mind mapping or a brain storming, after this step designer needs to draw in a sketchpad, not directly on computer, because with hand we are more freedom to do what we think, and we have to draw and represent lot of possibility not just write with words. After this step if it is necessary you can use computer and make it neatly. For a proposition of logo we have to make it firstly in black and after make various propositions in colour. After this we have to make a PDF for show it to the client and obviously make a good presentation of your production. Indeed a good logo could be refused if your oral presentation was no good.

Today with internet and the television design is more and more diffused so more and more it is seen by people. But to my mind poster design looks better if it was printed. And to the publicity that we can see on tv I found that looks to commercial and not better than poster in the street. So I don’t think that I turn in this direction, I don’t really like media video. But I think that it is possible to preserve the environment even if we print. Because internet is to me more dangerous for the environment than paper. Indeed to diffuse and share the information and to conserved all this done they need lot of means and money. Most of people ignore that internet as an also big incidence on the environment than production of paper. In fact the location of web server and all that it need to function are more dangerous to the planet. And the fact is that since 1950 the production of paper unceasing to grow up even if we have internet. In a video by Patrick Clair “How Green Is Your Internet?” He show to us some number who makes fear. For example each second past to watching a video online corresponds to an emission of carbon dioxide gas of 0.2 grams. And as Youtube was seeing 2 billion videos each day, that’s represent 4,000 tonnes of CO2 per day! So to me to do good design and be respectable to the environment I wanted to used vegetable ink and recyclable paper. And obviously I print just when it is necessary and I want to share my creation. So as future designer I think that is better to produce on a small scale and made and to do as much as possible all I can by hand.
