I think as a graphic designer , at the same time , we are the social person , the most strong strength is from our heart , there are many messages coming to us , but did we think they are neccesary ? Did we think they are resonate with us ? Maybe there are some messages like some posters on the street , some leaflets , we will stand stay them or throw them to rubbishbin ? A good design means the message will stay in people’s mind and then intended to influence their behavior . For exemple , the logo of Nazi , this logo have been there in different cultrue for long time , but no one has the influence as Nazi , right now sometimes when I want to use this simble in different project the first thing in my mind is I can’t use it . What is intended influence ? Just touch our mind with the devastating behavior and some bad memories ? In fact the “ original” design can guide us , especially the youth . There is many disgusting names exsisted , but some of them attract many consomation . I think it depends our base line , if this market doesn’t have the base line , design will be under suspiciton without doubt . For example, Coca Cola, we can see this logo in everywhere, the creative team even think about let Coca Cola become the mascot of christmas, once time even though right now, they designed Father Christmas as “mascot” in north-american market, and the first time use the women image to dump. Sometimes when you see a big advertising board with a big “Coca-Cola” in a scenic attraction, what’s your feeling? I feel I come back to marketing from my holidays. So we can see there appeared the ‘‘mascot” as the festival, as the god of our religion, that’s means the social culture have used the marketing to replace the focus on esprit of Christmas. Is this a good thing ? I don’t think so, right now we can see a lot of adcertisings during every festival, in China, we even create the festival for marketing, like on 11th November, because there are four “1”,so people say it’s the festival for singles , and in that day, the turnover of a e-commerce arrived 191 a hundred million RMB, about 114.6 a hundred million dollars. Newspapers said it’s a big shock, it’s ture. It’s a chance for bussiness men, but what about us? As a graphic designer, I feel shame. Those designer used the naked word and horrible visuel design to attract people go shopping. It’s a bad tendency, we really need buy such a lot things in one day? After that we’ll look forward every festival, not for “festival” but for consumption. How the great designer work? In graphic design, we always think about one question, WHAT THEY NEED? Some of us ask for clients, some of us ask for market, and some of us ask for the social culture. They will think about the morality, think about if we plant a idea to people’s mind, what will happen. Think about the economic crisis, except economists, who has to be responsble for it? Designers. We are the accomplice. We have able to let this world become more and more beautiful, more and more pure. Ask our heart.
How people are portrayed and represented visually? The designer who wants to sell more products for company, the most way is use the sexy body. This is a advertisement of Perrier, A sexy woman is pulling water to her body. For me the first point attracted me is that sexy woman, and after 3 minuites I have started think about the characteristic of Perrier. A good advertisement can attract people, let people think, and then open their wallet.But this advertisement can attract us, and then I don’t konw. I think body can resonates with us quickly, the most important is through bodies, what’s the most important information we could get.For example, a man is running alone on the street, keep running, keep breath, it can convey the sprit of the brand, it can resonate with people, everyone has the time run on the “way”lonely, but we insist it. People use the same element but get two different results of feeling.Before image age, people recompose the sentence, choose the beautiful words to attract consumers, right now we use more images to fit the fast rhyme of social.We have some solution to make our image be more charming.
