This is my process book. It documents all the journey I’ve walked thus far. Life’s a learning journey, but my aim is not at the finishing point of this journrym but the process of it.

[ ] BRIEF
to taste kimchi and rose jam and map down the process of how it tastes in our mouth.
All explorations were done using crayons. The idea was to just draw freely with reference to how kimchi tasts in my mouth.
Let’s start with Kimchi... [ TOP ] The idea of having kimchi being sour at the beginnging (yellow spots), and then as it moves on gradually the sourness is lost and the taste of sweet cabbage surfaces (red spots). These spots are randomly appearing in my taste bud (black background)
[ LEFT ] As i personally love to eat kimchi, these are the bits and pieces of how it looks like to me, colorful as it symbolises my joy of having to consume it.
More explorations... As messy as it may seem, this is how the myraids of taste of kimchi tastes in my mouth. Everything’s just a fusion and it seems like my taste bud is so overwhelmed by it that it likes it so much.
Free swirling tastes that flaunt itself in my mouth, the beauty of Kimchi’s unique taste.
Final Image The idea of Kimchi having the very distinct taste when it reaches my taste buds. Molecules of its taste are intense at the beginning (top) and slowly fade out, but not completely, even after awhile (bottom). These molecules were colour coded to symbolise its qualities: green for the freshness, red for the spicyness, and yellow for the sourness.
Next up is the Rose Jam...
[ TOP ] This is the immediate drawing I did after tasting it, massive use of purple to represent the spphistated sweet taste that it possess.
[ LEFT ] How the taste of Rose Jam is strongest at the beinning (top) and it just fades off to nothingness towards the end (bottom) Hues of pink and purple were used to represent sweetness and in a way, elegance as well.

As the night fall, The silhouette of a man stands tall With his ears against the door, Trying to discern if anyone’s home at all. He picked the lock steadily, And entered with such audacity. Combing the isolated house for money And holding stacks of dollar notes satisfactorily. Returning to a dilapidated house, To face his 4 children, parents and spouse. All struggling to fight hunger’s grip Anticipating the man’s late night trip. Brought to the table a sumptious meal Sparks of yellow happiness is what they feel. Stealing is what he did, Providing for a family is what he needs. Into a life of hardship he was born Like a sweet looking rose with thorns. A 2 sided story which gives a chaotic notion Accented strokes of red in random motion, Providing for his family with his ill gotten gains, Eventually got caught and his reputation is taint. Taste of rose jam, sweet at first but fades gradually Nothing lasts forever, even the sweetest thing amongst all entity.
