JOE COLOSIMO BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE Joe Colosimo is a high energy, candid and “get it done” advisor. He serves organizations large and small and he combines profit and nonprofit experiences with an accomplished corporate and consulting career. Colosimo is particularly knowledgeable with human resources, organization design and development, communications, and bringing groups together to focus through his facilitation and processes.

Colosimo holds executive experiences with several large corporations including SVP of Human Resources at Westinghouse, UtiliCorp United and senior Human Resources positions with Ford and Loral. His consulting practice includes work at Organization Resources Counselors, Inc. and businesses ranging from Fortune 300 to non-profits. His experiences cover a range of economic conditions from startup, to growth, to redirection, to turnaround and divestiture. Colosimo’s work has been noted in books and he was featured as the only non-CEO in The Journal of Business Strategy’s list of leading strategists in the country to watch. More recently, he was featured in Financial Executive Magazine discussing future talent challenges. When he is not working, Colosimo is active in a variety of community organizations and initiatives. He teaches in the Management Department of the University of Denver. Previously, he was a long-term active board member of The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Colosimo has served on the Board of the Rocky Mountain Human Resource Planning Society, KidsTek and the Leadership Committee of the Association for Corporate Growth. He has been a competitive rower, having competed throughout the United States and Canada.


THAD DUPPER BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE Thad Dupper is former CEO and Chairman of Evolving Systems and holds extensive experience working in the technology sector with companies ranging from startup to publicly traded companies. Dupper’s recognized senior executive expertise in the wireless, optical and big data industries has enabled him to provide a variety of companies with strategic direction and leadership in all aspects of company operations including: product strategy, operations, sales and marketing, business development, and mergers and acquisitions. Some of Dupper’s senior roles include, VP of Sales at Teradata Corp, SVP of Value-added products at Dun & Bradstreet, VP of Business Development at Terabeam Corporation and SVP of Sales & Marketing for Expand Beyond. Dupper is a member of the Finance Committee for Archdiocese of Denver, and a trustee of the Colorado Children’s Chorale.

DIANA FREDERICKS BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE Diana Fredericks is an experienced executive in strategic planning and business development with 25 years of leading, coaching and mentoring professionals worldwide. Fredericks has the ability to collaborate within multi-level organizations, develop solutions in complex environments and pioneer all aspects of growth for immediate results. Fredericks drives comprehensive marketing initiatives including social media, video, website design, while forging strategic partnerships. She is an accomplished presenter in the board room and in the field, experienced with all levels of management and decision makers.

Fredericks is actively involved in the local community. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Lincoln Park Community Shelter and the Junior League of Denver as the VP of Finance, in addition to holding the Alpha Chi Omega sorority Class President and Chapter Advisor positions. In addition to serving as an Executive in Residence, Fredericks serves on the Daniels College of Business Executive Advisory Board. Fredericks is an avid outdoor enthusiast including hiking, golf, alpine skiing and scuba diving. She is passionate about playing guitar, music, investing, reading, history, theater and the arts.


TODD HESKETT BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE Todd Heskett founded Watermarq Consulting, a talent development company, in 2001 and now serves as Managing Partner. He spent fifteen years expanding the practice into New Zealand and the United Kingdom to better serve clients in over 40 countries. Heskett’s focus is change management: helping organizations and individuals innovate through leadership, diversity and team performance. Heskett is passionate about setting people up for success and considers himself a ‘serial people-development entrepreneur’ developing individuals throughout all stages of their career. He has written a book, “Keep Your PIE Fresh,” on helping mid-level managers understand the key drivers to creating greater success at work. Heskett’s background had him working in the UK for 14 years in corporate operations for global manufacturing and distribution businesses. Although his work has expanded beyond these sectors into finance and pharma, early in his career he held leadership positions including Director of Operations for Saint-Gobain and Operations Manager for Mohawk Industries. In 2016, Heskett joined the Board of Directors for the Women’s Bean Project and leads the Governance Committee driving future board changes aligned with organizational growth. When Heskett is not fostering careers and helping managers create success, he enjoys the rewards and challenges of international travel, bicycle touring, tele-skiing and enjoying the Colorado’s parks and rivers with his family.

LEIGH HITZ BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE Leigh Hitz recently retired as chief executive officer for Stout Street Hospitality, 28 years after joining its original inception as the Steven Holtze Corporation. She led Stout Street Hospitality through the successful acquisition of the Mayfair Hotel and rebranded the hotel in early summer 2014 as Magnolia Hotel St. Louis.

Prior to the purchase of the Mayfair Hotel, Hitz helped craft the management agreement to oversee operations of the Holiday Inn Dallas Central – Park Cities. The Holiday Inn Dallas Central – Park Cities and Mayfair acquisition are part of the company’s expansion strategy, which began with a corporate identity change from Magnolia Hotels to Stout Street Hospitality. Hitz believed it was important to change the company’s corporate entity to reflect its revamped goals of strategically expanding the company to include branded hotels and resorts, franchise opportunities, construction, extended stay and its core product—historic, independent boutique hotels. Before joining Stout Street, she held various sales and operations positions at independent and branded properties throughout Colorado. In 2008, Hitz and her husband, James, established a scholarship fund for female students pursuing a hospitality degree at the University of Denver’s Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management. Hitz has previously been named a finalist for the Denver Business Journal’s “Business Woman of the Year” award. Currently, she is active with several hotel associations and convention bureaus and sits on the Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management Executive Advisory Board.


EVON HOLLADAY BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE Evon Holladay is a seasoned professional in architecting enterprise intelligence solutions and running analytics operations. She has built scalable, high-value solutions for healthcare, telecommunications, retail and manufacturing. She is passionate about working with a broad range of stakeholders to develop a strategy and then operationalize the strategy into solutions that provide measurable value. As the former Vice President of Enterprise Intelligence for Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), Holladay led CHI’s Population Health Analytics and Data strategy. This included formation of an industry leading information management governance structure for CHI’s analytics portfolio, enterprise data warehouse, data governance and enterprise information architecture. Currently, Holladay is using her research skills to help provide new insight into the health-healthcare-health insurance conundrum. She is collaborating with a broad range of viewpoints—in the U.S. and internationally—ranging from health economists, healthcare providers, health insurance and alternative medicine. Her research is focused on the impact of healthcare spending on personal income and the changes in the health of the U.S. population. Holladay is also an analytics advisory board member for Daniels’ Business Information and Analytics department and she regularly presents her work nationally and internationally. At DU she guest-lectures and works with her business peers to provide timely capstone project opportunities.

MARCIANNE “MARCI” JENKINS BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE Marcianne “Marci” Jenkins has over 20 years experience in the Consulting Industry and is currently a Senior Manager at Accenture, focused on internal business applications. She is the program lead for a capability focused on cross-portfolio employee experience, leveraging design thinking to shape great web and mobile experiences for Accenture’s employees.

Jenkins’ previous roles at Accenture have included program manager of large global process improvement and systems delivery projects, operations lead for global IT capabilities, and strategy consultant shaping new business capabilities for Accenture and its clients. Jenkins is currently an Executive in Residence at Daniels and is focusing her time working with the Department of Management. When Jenkins is not working, she spends time with her DU alum husband and their two boys, ages four and five, who attend the Ricks Center on the DU campus. She also enjoys running, triathlons and skiing, and her occasional color commentating job for the DU gymnastics team where she is also an alumna.


COLLON KENNEDY BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE For nearly three decades, Collon Kennedy III has served as a senior executive and attorney with major energy and mining companies operating in North America and Chile. Kennedy’s most recent experience includes serving as outside legal counsel to Ruby Canyon Engineering Inc., a Colorado environmental engineering firm, where he analyzed environmental, legal, operational challenges and incentives associated with the capture, sale and destruction of coal mine methane (CMM), a source of greenhouse gas emissions. From 2001-2008, Kennedy served as Vice President of Peabody Natural Gas, LLC. His work has been featured in Coal Mine Methane: The True Unconventional Gas and other white papers and presentations prepared for the Environmental Protection Agency’s Coalbed Methane Outreach Program.

JOHN L. KNOTT, JR. BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE John L. Knott, Jr. is an internationally recognized leader in urban regeneration and sustainability. He is the creator of the CityCraft process, which restores the economic, environmental and social health of cities. Knott is a recognized thought leader and keynote speaker on sustainable community development and regenerative economies.

A third generation builder/developer, Knott has over 45 years of experience in urban regeneration. His awardwinning projects include work at: the Baltimore Inner Harbor, urban areas in Baltimore and Washington DC; the University of Texas Health Science Center in the Houston Medical Center; Dewees Island in South Carolina; and the Noisette Community of North Charleston in South Carolina. Through innovations, such as cross sector integration strategies at both Dewees and Noisette, Knott has been recognized as an influential leader in molding the nation’s sustainable development movement. The City of North Charleston was the 2009 recipient of The Home Depot Foundation award as the leading sustainable city (under 100,000) in the United States centered on the partnership with The Noisette Company and the Sustainability Institute (a nonprofit founded by John in 1999). Knott has advised the White House and the Department of Homeland Security on energy security and sustainability. He has served as an advisor to HUD, DOE, EPA and the National Park Service throughout his career, as well as serving as an advisor to major corporations, state and national governments and cities throughout the United States, Canada, China and Russia.


STEVEN LAPOSA, PhD BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE Steven Laposa, PhD has more than 30 years of commercial real estate, construction management, geospatial analysis, economic consulting and academic experience. Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Laposa spent five years as the Endowed Chair in Real Estate at Colorado State University, 14 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Director in the Global Strategic Real Estate Research group and research positions with LaSalle Investment Advisory and Alex Brown Kleinwort Benson Realty Advisors. He has also guest lectured at several of the top real estate programs in the United States. Currently, Laposa is a Principal with Alvarez & Marsal’s Insight Center – International Economics and Real Estate in Denver. He is also a member of the American Real Estate Society (Past President), the Urban Land Institute, Homer Hoyt Fellow, CoreNet, National Association of Business Economists, American Economic Association and the International Council of Shopping Centers. In addition to a wide variety of industry articles and as a frequent presenter at industry and academic conferences, Laposa has held editorial board positions on six academic journals and has numerous peer-reviewed publications.

PAT MONTGOMERY BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE Pat Montgomery is a technology, business change and risk management leader with over 30 years of experience in the financial services, consulting and entertainment businesses. Montgomery’s career focus was on global program management in regulated and unregulated environments including business process transformation, risk management, software design and delivery, and program governance and prioritization. Montgomery worked for Morgan Stanley, UBS, McKinsey and Columbia Pictures.

Montgomery currently works for the Vail Centre providing leadership support for destination learning and entrepreneurship programs in the Vail Valley, in addition to her position as Executive in Residence at the University of Denver.


GEORGE L. THORN BIOGRAPHY AT GLANCE George L. Thorn is the President & Founder of Mile High Development LLC (MHD). MHD is a veteran of large scale mixed use projects such as the Colorado Center and office project developments such as the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building in downtown Denver. MHD has the ability to work in a complex political environment to maximize these opportunities by working closely with landowners, local municipalities, the Regional Transportation District (RTD), Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and other governmental entities. Thorn co-chaired the Finance Committee for the Guide the Ride Campaign and led the Downtown Denver Partnership fundraising efforts for both the successful Southeast Corridor/TREX Campaign and the FasTracks Campaign, and has been active in transit issues and related legislation for the past 25 years. In 2011, Thorn was the co-recipient (with Buz Koelbel) of the inaugural Transit Alliance Leadership Award as Outstanding Leader in the Private sector. In 2001, Thorn was named Honorary Dean of the Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver and is currently serving Daniels as Executive in Residence.
