Concept As a first world country we are very unaware of the difficulties that people go through every day to just get water. We can go to our closest tap or shop to get some water. These people will have to walk miles to get water just for their children. “The Water Project is a non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing reliable water projects to communities in subSaharan Africa who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation.

The concept is to make more people aware of their surroundings and what they can do to help with an easier structure to help donating further.

Campaign Posters Less is more. Posters that have less information on them mainly grab your attention more. When you walk past a poster you only get a few seconds to have a look at it. These posters are designed to make you stop and think. The type chosen is meant to represent water as well as having a neutral gradient of a blue to show that water isn’t clean in most countries. The typeface is ‘water font’ and has been used before in a previous campaign by ‘The Water Project’. The typeface is bold and ‘different’ therefore eye-catching. Website design The website is there to guide you incase you are unaware of the campaign and want to learn more. The current website is very image heavy and doesn’t make it easier to understand. The website that I have designed is very minimalistic and easy to understand. I have also placed a bottle on the website therefore whenever someone donates the water levels change. This would show how much of a difference one donation can do to someone. The website is now very simple and easy to coordinate around. I also put a place where you can see who donated to show the person donating their appreciation. The idea with the bottle is to attract more viewers towards the website as the current website is quite standard/safe. Daniel Carter - OUGD503 - Studio Brief 01 - Monotype

Phone website layout I created a mobile version of the website to show the difference between the two versions. For the phone version I made each button a lot bigger to help people get along the website easier. I made a tap link in with the border of the word ‘donate’ so that water could flow out and into the bottle as someone donates to make it more interactive and fun for the viewer. I believe this version is easy to use and would be fun and interactive for someone donating.

Badges I wanted to use my typography on badges as it is something that can be easily given out or sold to gain more awareness towards the charity. You always see people collecting things like badges which would be a great way to distrubute.

Extra promotion It’s important to take into consideration ways to inform and reach people. I myself wasn’t very aware of how serious this campaign is and if I don’t know then i’m sure the majority of people in the UK do not. The Water Project would take great advantage of promoting their campaign on bus’, billboards and every day promotion. This way of promotion reaches out to people who see the importance of donating whether it’s only a little or big amount.
