How did the past year change you? Sometimes transformation can be hard, but the result is always worth the work. When we can shed our old habits and focus on newer, higher, goals we elevate ourselves and everyone around us! Interior design is an industry of transformation, one that allows homeowners to take their homes to the next level.

After our first visit to our client’s home we could see the opportunity for a major transformation! It was a cozy, traditional home built in the late 80’s that was well loved but ready to join us in 2020. Our client was excited to get started designing her dream kitchen and brought us on to help make her dream a reality. The design we presented was a collaboration with the uber talented Diablo Valley Cabinetry and is currently under construction. The new kitchen will be full of fresh energy and life, a testament to the power of transformation!

The kitchen includes a custom range hood with brass inset Schluter detail separating the shiplap. The countertops are Calacatta Vagli marble with veins of soft grey and touches of warm neutral blush tones running throughout. The cabinets are a warm white but have the unexpected textural element of reeded glass panels that bend and reflect light within the space. The backsplash is a new take on subway tile, we selected a dimensional tile in a herringbone pattern to add interest without competing with the overall design.

Every transformation, from the largest to the smallest, has the opportunity to add or take away from the aesthetic appeal of a home. We are always appreciative of the wonderful clients who value the added consideration a professional design studio can bring to every project detail!
