INTERVIEW – Hassan Dawood/DM-FTC What is your understanding on CORE Project? CORE is more than an ERP system! The way of applying and improving this software makes CORE a great event especially in business retail. CORE will save our time, our efforts and will speed up our processing. What are the challenges that you are expecting? I expect some difficulties especially when moving form Baan to CORE. As employees have been using this software for over 10 years, the change will not be that easy and that is the biggest challenge in this area. Are you and your team ready for the coming For me Early it’s anTraining? exciting opportunity to work with the team and face this challenge. At the end of the day I can trusthead myself put Early training is an advance testing step asnew I believe the Chalhoub Group is always a step ontoany FTC’s name on the top. project. Today early training is that step. We are going to test gaps that we were defending in the fit gap sessions, and going to test the system and the functions; that will be great at all different levels. Please define your day to day relation with CORE team? CORE team is the most important factor of CORE’s success. They are really amazing and professional. We have been dealing with them since the beginning and I would like to thank them. (thanks Core team) What is your conclusion? My last word would be “Core is the future of the Group”. We all have to work together to make this programme a success. I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to return to their learning environment and appreciate more the training courses. As a conclusion, CORE is the best way of managing over the world.
Testimonials The only thing constant in life is change and for us the change was difficult but a crucial one as we went from a company with an in house software to one step closer in becoming a recognized global company with a universally accepted accounting system. With the start of Core boundaries have been dissolved and we now work as a better integrated unit “Chalhoub Group”.
Elroy Pereira, Chief Accountant – Salhia Head Office
Despite the many obstacles we have all encountered since Go Live, I can proudly say that Kuwait Users have gone the Extra Mile and accepted the Change! Personally CORE was a huge challenge at first, highly time and energy consuming; however today I can definitely see the difference as it has completely changed my whole work life environment, in the best way. It was certainly not really obvious in the beginning… now I am really happy to say that indeed “TOGETHER BETTER”.
Hasna Raissi, Kuwait Retail Operations Executive
The change from MIS to Oracle was challenging but not too much for me, since I was still new to the company when the transition happened. I think the change was very useful and efficient in certain aspects but more complicated and time-consuming in others. The automated report in the system and the ability to generate/create any report is very useful to us & relatively simple. That being said, occasional lags that occur between different modules can be quite disturbing, not to mention the process of logging an incident and ensuring prompt follow-up. I think although we have faced so many problems with CORE in the past, it is beginning to stabilize at least in terms of my work in the system (BI/RMS).
Silvana Fares, Brand Analyst; Salhia Head Office
