My Aveson Footprint

Andrew Latreille Block 2 English 12 May 19th, 2011 My Footprint My high school career has reached its end. I am closing a chapter in my life and opening a new one. As I depart from high school and enter the adult world of college I look back at my high school life and about how much I have accomplished. Over my time in high school at Aveson I lead/participated in my student run events and helped out in some none student run events. In my first year at Aveson I joined the Aveson Student Body, or Asb for short, and while in Asb I helped run and organize a Thanksgiving food drive for Union Station and families that needed it. It was a lot of hard work putting up and handing out fliers to get people to donate food. Then our group had to organize the food we collected in to groups for each family. After two weeks of collecting and three days of organizing the food we were ready to deliver them to the families and Union Station. It felt good using my time to do some good for those who were less fortunate. Also during one of the assemblies I helped set up the sound equipment for the auditorium and ever since them I have been in charge of setting up and taking down the equipment. It has made me want to learn to be a DJ for a hobby because I love working with the sound equipment. I have also helped set up for both June Jubilees that I have been at the school for and I will help set up for my third one next year and more for years to come. This year I helped with the fundraisers for us seniors to raise money for our Grad Night at Disneyland. We had many bake sales and hot food Friday's. We even had a car wash and raised over $500. This year has been a real challenge for me too though with classes, work, and my personal life all clashing together. But I persevered and made it through this crazy year. What I leave behind as a foot print is to encourage the next wave of student leaders is the get out there and make something of your high school life. Plan a field trip with your teachers, plan fundraisers, start a after school club or lunch club. You never know what you start could stay with the school forever. Make sure you have fun and don't stress out about school to much. That is my foot print that I leave behind.
