A Bimonthly Multicultural Night

Karibu Kilifair 2018 Karibu Fair (TATO) and KILIFAIR have recently joined both well-known tourism fairs into ONE, which is becoming by far the largest and most opinion Tourism Trade Fair in East Africa. The newly formed “KARIBU KILIFAIR� is going to host 350+ exhibitors from East and central Africa, 300+ international hosted & semi hosted buyers, as well as approx. 4000 trade visitors during the 3 days fair from June 1-3, 2018. The fair will annually alternate between Moshi/Kilimanjaro (2018) and Arusha (2019).

Come and experience a bimonthly Multicultural Night at Alliance on 18th April from 7pm-10pm. Fusion performance by Isack ABENEKO , a contemporary live performer, actor, dancer, guitarist and choreographer. His music is derived from various Tanzanian traditional dances, melodies and rhythms, blended with contemporary dance music to illuminate and inspire the next generation and Traditional music by IFA BAND, a mobile band, which moves from one place to another entertaining people whenever the agreed amount is paid in a form of fee. Basically it can be described as a street band made up by 6 young boys, whereas this band is their main source of income. In their street performances, IFA plays a mix of cover songs if demanded by the audience, however the band has composed more than 30 original songs in different styles like Rhumba, traditional, Bongo Flava and “Muziki wa Dansi� rhythms. Jazz Concert Come and witness Airelle BESSON (Trumpet) Jazz Duo with Lionel SUAREZ (Accordion) on 26th April 2018, from 7 :30pm at Slipway Terrace. Airelle has an impressive track-record. The 16th edition of the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager Marathon and it’s supporting events, the Tigo Half Marathon and the Grand Malt Fun Run was taken to a new level in terms of number of runners participating and supporters on the route and in the end welcoming champion competitors in.

DAVY SICARD’S MON ZANFAN ALBUM A childhood memoir expressed in music By Detricia Pamba “Davy Sicard is Reunionese singer-songwriter born in 1973. ŵƵůƟͲŝŶƐƚƌƵŵĞŶƚĂůŝƐƚ͕ ŚĞ creates a fusion of maloya and world music. anzania has a long history of human habitation stretching back to our most distant ancestors. The so-called ‘bantu migrations’, occurring between 3,000 and 5,000 years ago, brought agriculture and pastoral knowledge to the area as competing groups spread over the country in search of fertile soil and plentiful grazing for their herds. European missionaries and explorers mapped the interior of the country by following well-worn caravan routes, including Burton and Speke who LQ MRXUQH\HG WR ÂżQG WKH VRXUFH RI WKH 1LOH Traditional ways of life remained largely intact until the arrival of German colonizers in the late 19th century. “The Islands of Kilwa Kisiwani and the nearby ruins of Songo Mnara are among the most important remnants of Swahili Civilization on the East African Coast�. as early as 400BCE between Greece and Azania, as the area was commonly known. Around the 4th century AD, coastal towns and trading settlements attracted bantu-speaking peoples from the African hinterland. Tanganyika achieved full independence in 1962. Meanwhile, a violent revolution in Zanzibar ousted the Omani sultancy and established a oneparty state under the Afro-Shirazi party in 1963. A year later, the United Republic of Tanzania was formed, unifying the Tanganyika mainland with the semi-autonomous islands of the Zanzibar Archipelago, and merging TANU and the ASP to form CCM, Chama cha Mapinduzi, the Party of the Revolution which rules Tanzania to the present day.
