The All Or Nothing Experience, by Carol Harrison, is a classic rock and roll story of the Small Faces, four charismatic young kids from East London. In 1965, a new phenomenon erupted out of London's East End. It was the essence of all that was cool. It was Mod.

The All Or Nothing Experience follows the rise and demise of the Small Faces, the band who encapsulated all that was Mod.

A unique blend of taste and testosterone, clothes-obsessed and street-wise - but most of all, a dedication to rhythm 'n' blues.

The All Or Nothing Experience live show celebrates the unique sound of this iconic Mod band, including hits 'Whatcha Gonna Do About It', 'Tin Soldier', 'Lazy Sunday', 'Itchycoo Park' and 'All or Nothing', as well as offering an extended set of soulful sounds from the 60s plus special guests.

It was 1977, the year of skin-tight polyester, the Queen's Silver Jubilee and Saturday Night Fever

The Sex Pistols were storming up the charts, skateboarding was the latest craze and Angela Rippon danced with Morecambe & Wise

And at Hampstead Theatre in London, Mike Leigh and his cast were putting the finishing touches to Abigail's Party, ferocious black comedy and landmark of twentieth century theatre. In her suburban living room, Beverly prepares for the arrival of her guests. She and husband Laurence will play host to neighbours Angela, Tony and Sue.

As the alcohol flows and the 'nibbles' are handed around, Mike Leigh's ruthless, achingly funny examination of 1970s British life begins…

Abigail's Party was premièred at the Hampstead Theatre in 1977, with the role of Beverly being immortalised by Alison Steadman. A record sixteen million people watched its broadcast as Play for Today, underlining its status as a true modern classic and national treasure.

'Look anyone will tell you, I'm a pretty straight sort of guy.' Tony Blair

A reckless reappraisal of the life of former Ugly Rumours front man and Britain's first pop Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Starring Helen Lederer and Michael Starke

On Gail's East Anglian farm, the honeybees are dropping like flies - just like her love life. She hasn't slept with anyone since her husband bolted years ago. Her daughter's marriage is going bust just like her turkey farm. Neighbour Earl is fighting a losing battle with his sugar beet yield and his 'no strings' relationships. Can bio-student Ben perk up the pollinators and give the turkeys a helping hand? Perhaps all they need is some local mead and the annual Turkey Day's Dance to help them discover that the best way out of a crisis is to commit to those closest to you. Just don't get stung! This hilarious comedy romp has a heart as big as the laughs it brings. Starring comic genius, writer and actress Helen Lederer (Absolutely Fabulous, Bottom and French & Saunders) and Michael Starke, known and loved from his role as Sinbad in Brookside to TV's The Royal and Benidorm and countless major leads on stage including Hairspray and Waitress.

FORRESTER’S

BY THE WATERS OF LIVERPOOL

Directed by Gareth Tudor Price and adapted by Rob Fennah from Helen Forrester's million-selling book, By The Waters Of Liverpool revisits the characters, time and place that made Twopence To Cross the Mersey 'totally compelling' (Liverpool Echo).

During the Great Depression, Helen's father lost his fortune when the stock market crashed and the family were suddenly thrown into poverty. Leaving behind the nannies, servants and comfortable middle-class life in the South West of England, the Forrester's chose Liverpool as the place to start over. They were in for a terrible shock. Taken out of school to care for her younger brothers and sisters while her parents struggled to re-build their shattered lives, in 1935 16-year-old Helen is treated as an unpaid slave and desperate to escape; to educate herself and go out to work. By 1939, now aged twenty and with Britain on the brink of war, she has still never been kissed by a man. But things start looking up for Helen when she meets a tall strong seaman and falls in love.

A new story inspired by the classic novel by Mary Shelley

Written and directed by Séan Aydon

1943. Whilst Europe tears itself apart, two women hide from their past at what feels like the very end of the world. And one of them has a terrifying story to tell…

'I created life. You don't believe me but it's true. I didn't start from scratch of course but out of portions and odd ends I made something -alive. But what I created... it wasn't a superhuman. It was a monster.'

This new thriller inspired by the classic gothic novel and complete with a stunning original score explores the very fabric of what makes us human and the ultimate cost of chasing 'perfection'.

Frankenstein is an electrifying reimagining of the world's favourite horror story that will set minds and spines tingling.

Bill Kenwright brings a brand-new production to Darlington, featuring a re-imagined book and new music.

Inspired by the story of a group of ladies, the Calendar Girls

The death of a much-loved husband prompts a group of ordinary women in a small Yorkshire Women's Institute to do an extraordinary thing. Blasting away all preconceptions of what it is to be in the WI, they decide to do an artistic nude calendar to raise money for charity.

But upturning preconceptions is a dangerous business and none of them expect the emotional and personal ramifications as gradually the making of the fabulous and funny calendar brings each woman unexpectedly into flower.

The true story of the Calendar Girls launched a global phenomenon, a million copycat calendars, a record-breaking movie, stage play and now a musical written by Tim Firth and Gary Barlow which coined the term 'craughing' - the act of crying and laughing at the same time. With unforgettable songs, every performance continues to add to the millions already raised for charity and prove that there is no such thing as an ordinary woman.

'Hello, my name is Oleksandra and I prefer to be called Sasha. I came to Darlington six months ago with my mom Inna and travelled from our family home on the outskirts of Kyiv, Ukraine. We love everything about Darlington and in particular the beautiful theatre.

I have been to the Hippodrome twice and each time it was spectacular! My first visit was to see a Miss Marple play which I enjoyed so much. The acting, scenery, theatre staff, displays and comfortable seating made my first experience so memorable. It was so exciting to be in an English theatre and I was on the edge of my seat fascinated how this piece of art is presented in another culture. My second visit to the Hippodrome was to see a ballet called The Nutcracker. I was captivated by how dancers' rich facial expressions complemented their moves and made the audience understand the emotions they represented without any words. In addition, the performance was enhanced by the talented orchestra who accompanied the ballet to create the magical story.' Sasha's visits to the Hippodrome were supported by our A Place for Everyone fund, which opens up the theatre to audiences, practitioners and performers regardless of social, physical or economic barriers.
