Solid top end of the Form whose standard of work is reported to be outstanding. Productive during evening study sessions. Worked well in the Half Yearly examinations. Some have lost focus in Term 2. How much work are they doing on the weekend? Laptops do not solve all human kinds problems!

The HSC is comprised of 50% Assessment and 50% HSC Exams. Assessments are conducted within the school and involve a range of tasks such as speeches, group assignments, presentations, written tasks, etc. The HSC exams are conducted by the Board of Studies at the College. A Presiding Officer is appointed by the Board. The school has jurisdiction.





Internal assessment tasks that contribute to the final HSC assessment. Students and parents have an assessment booklet and a term by term summary sheet outlining the assessment schedule.

Trial HSC exams are the main focus. Trials carry a heavy assessment weighting. Exam periods often carry increased stress for many students. Some assessment task will continue after the Trials in some subjects.

 

  

Holiday preparation is essential. Study is centred around completing past exam papers. Saturation study using past papers. Reduced computer time. More written work. Complete responses to a set time frame similar to exam conditions.

 

Illness and misadventure AT THE TIME OF THE EXAM. Students are encouraged to sit for the exam unless it is physically impossible for them to do so. Presiding Officer makes observations of the student during the exam and completes a report. A doctor’s certificate is essential.
