Karakusa Collection by Hanaé Mori
Last September, the Japanese couture designer Hanae Mori has collaborated with the Haviland factory. Hanae Mori also called « Mrs Butterfly » - has taken her inspiration from her two loved cities: Tokyo and Paris. The Japanese artist and the French Manufacture of Limoges have introduced two very poetic collections full of arabesques and butterflies.
About Hanae Mori: Since childhood, Hanae Mori has always been fascinated by the world of fashion and Haute Couture. She opened her first sewing shop in Tokyo in 1951. After many journeys between New York and Paris, she met Coco Chanel during a fitting on rue Cambon in 1961. This meeting gave a new impulse to her career and lead her to start investing in ready-to-wear and Haute Couture. Thanks to her eastern and western culture Hanae Mori launched her first Haute Couture collection in Paris in 1977 and came up with great success. Hanae Mori is one of the first to introduce Japanese women to western luxury while adding a Japanese touch in her collections. She created a real bond between western and eastern cultures. All her creations are a refined mix of beauty and Japanese tradition. In 2004, she has introduced her last collection and said her farewells to Haute Couture. However, she keeps on inspiring many stylists and on collaborating with various and prestigious Institutions.

CONSIGNMENT PROGRAM
Salon Murat Collection The Salon Murat collection is a reissue of a masterpiece dated 1893 from the Haviland Museum. The Council of Ministers takes place in the Salon Murat, reception room of the ElysÊe Palace: prestige and solemnity are honoured. This design in relief is made of two Greek friezes surrounding a succession of Acanthus flowers in a Roman-style rotation. It is completed with five finely wrought ornaments in a stylized way. Finally, a blazing sun adorns the heart of the presentation plate’s bottom. Introduced last January to celebrate Haviland 170-yearanniversary, the Salon Murat collection is now presented in a colourful cherry and ivory version. With these warm and comforting colours, Haviland offers us a new interpretation of this very refined and prestigious pattern.
