BIOGRAPHY

I am a Florida native where I obtained my Master of Architecture degree from the University of Florida, and I have over 20 years of Award Winning architecture experience in addition to a construction background. My studies focused on Design Tactics, Coastal Urbanization research, Florida Vernacular and Mid Century Modern research, Pacific/Asia region research alongside of Graduate Teaching. I have found while working as both a licensed contractor in the construction field and as well with industry leading architects that great design is a result of a rigorous understanding of the client values, context, program, and broader questioning of the situation at hand. Research, analysis, and problem solving is the prerequisite for viable design solutions and meaningful place making.

While working with Perkins+Will in Miami, my experience spanned mixed-use, office/retail, multifamily, educational facilities, and healthcare. At Architects Design Group, my focus was on Design Excellence for public sector clients that included police, fire, judicial, city government, transportation, emergency operations, and public safety architecture. As a Design Director at LITTLE, we pursued a multitude of project types for the Charlotte Workplace Studio, Orlando region, and China projects including Corporate HQ’s, Mixed Use Office, Speculative Office, Master Planning, Medical, and Community Projects.

Although personal travel has exposed me to different cultures and places, I have found great pleasure in exploring and understanding the southeast region which has led me to Gensler - Charlotte. We pursue a multitude of project types including Corporate HQ’s, Mixed Use, Hospitality, Speculative Office, and other base Building typologies. My role as Design Director of the Workplace studio is to Foster a Culture of Design Innovation. Our holistic process of Vision, Discover, and Create allows us to uncover opportunities at all phases. This passion for the Culture of Design, being a Visible Expert, and Thinking Beyond has presented the humbling and exciting opportunity to now serve as the Corporate, Commercial, and Civic Practice and Design Leader for Perkins + Will NC.
