What’s particularly great about Minnesota is that it’s coming just months after the state attempted to ban same-sex marriage. Assuming that marriage equality does come to Minnesota, it will be the first Midwestern state to approve of same-sex marriage through its Legislature. Considering we’ve basically conquered New England, it’s time for other areas of the country to start coming on board. Now, if only we can get some of that progress down south... Until Next Week,

Richard Jenkins will play McDormand’s husband, the town pharmacist. Think less Marky Mark, more Murder She Wrote and you’re almost there. Hello Ross, we’re ready to watch your talk show called Hello Ross. It’s good to be funny and know Chelsea Handler. Of course, you might think that in the case of Ross Mathews, who began his chat show sidekick career freaking people out with his excellently high-pitched speaking voice (he went by “Ross The Intern”) on The Tonight Show, that it’d be good to be funny and know Jay Leno. But it’s actually Handler who hooks up her pals. Case in point: Mathews, who guests on the Chelsea Lately comics roundtable on an almost weekly basis, is spinning off into hosting territory thanks to his current boss. Handler’s production company is behind Hello Ross, which will premiere on E! later this year. We’re happy for Ross, who’s both funny and sweet-natured, but sooner or later his show is bound to bring up the tired old argument about masculine versus feminine gay male representation on TV. It’s inevitable. For the record, we don’t care that the author of Man Up! is frequently mistaken on the phone for female, as long as he makes us laugh. So make us laugh, Ross. Ross Matthews

emorial Day is right around the corner, and if you haven’t already planned your trip down to Pensacola, you should probably get on that! For years, it has been the Memorial weekend destination of gay and lesbians all over the southeast. This year is no different; with all types of events, music and bars, this is the place to be! Presented by Grey Goose Vodka, JustCircuit and AmbushMag. com, this event will take place May 24–26 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day, right on Park East Pensacola Beach. There will be live music, entertainment, bars galore, food everywhere you can look, hot girls, half naked boys, and best of all, it’s free! Don’t worry about dehydrating—there will be also ice for sale for those who need to cool off a little. On May 25, right on the beach, there will be Wave: A Beach Party, featuring world famous DJ Roland Belmares. DJ Roland has played several big parties such as the White Party, the Winter Party (Miami), Fireball (Chicago), and the world famous Gay Days in Orlando. He has worked with many of the “dancefloor divas” such as Billie Myers, Pepper Mashay and Debbie Holiday. In other words, this hottie knows how to put on a party. There is so much going on this weekend; the choices are endless. If you don’t feel like hanging out on the beach all day, you can always zoom on down to Emerald City, the local gay hideout, where they have different events and shows each night! Friday, they have the Boys Night Out: Strip Off Contest at Midnight hosted by Lauren Mitchell. Saturday, they have the hottest DJs in the area ready to make you sweat! And Sundays, they have “Drink & Drown” specials from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., with shows at 11:30 p.m. and 1 a.m.

For you ladies, if you want something a little more exclusive, Atlanta’s very own My Sister’s Room will be hosting Sexacola Beach at Cap’n Fun Beach Club, with different events and entertainment each night. The official Sexacola Kick Off Party will be Thursday, May 23 with a comedy show from J.O.E. Entertainment and a drag show from the Tifnay Swagger Crew. The following night, you will be treated to some great tunes by the Maria Gabriella Band and have the chance to win $500 cold, hard cash by entering their Drag King competition. Saturday, May 25, get there early and get ready to shake your laffy taffy, cause the Ying Yang Twins will be putting on a full show just for you featuring DJ Liz Owen, of Atlanta. And to close out the weekend, on the 26th, you have the White Party featuring Goddess and She live in concert! Are bars not really your style? Well, you’re in luck! Right down the road, you have the Pensacola Unleased Music Festival featuring some amazing headlining talents such as The Indigo Girls, Kristy Lee, and LGBT favorite Brandi Carlile. Be make sure to catch the other acts too, like Super Funk Fantasy, Hussy Hicks and America’s Got Talent contestant Derrick Barry. There’s so much to do down in Pensacola on Memorial Day Weekend; if you haven’t already planned your trip, you should get on that now! Tickets can be purchased online at memorialweekendpensacola.com.

O U T : Hilton Hotel Chain Extends Welcome to Gay Travelers

By Van Gower

ith the lingering cool weather we in Atlanta have been experiencing, it might be difficult to fathom that Pride season is almost upon us. However, June is LGBT Pride Month, and one national hotel chain is rolling out the rainbow carpet for gay travelers who will be heading out to the various Pride festivals around the world. Hilton Hotels & Resorts has announced “Stay Hilton, Go Out.” at its more than 460 properties in the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Africa. The value-added package, which will be offered to Hilton’s gay guests, includes high-speed internet, a one-year digital subscription to OUT magazine, two welcome beverages, and late checkout where available.

“Whether traveling solo, with friends, as a couple or with family, we are proud to offer LGBT guests and friends this value-added package and other resources to make the most of their travel through our ‘Stay Hilton. Go Out.’ program,” said Rob Palleschi, global head of Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Hilton is also sponsoring a number of major LGBT Pride events, including San Francisco Pride, Capital Pride in Washington, DC, and Northalsted Market Days in Chicago. What’s more, it offers a Stay Hilton Go Out LGBT Travel Newsletter on its website; subscribers receive LGBT travel ideas, special offers, and upcoming events alerts.

Gays are, of course, also welcomed to participate in Hilton HHonors, the hotel chain’s guest loyalty program. Soak Up the Sun at the Oasis Sens By Elijah Sarkesian

W

hen you think about Cancun, forget about spring break. There’s more to Cancun than what’s long been plastered on MTV for years.

Don’t get me wrong: there are plenty of places to party, even for gay crowds. Downtown Cancun is host to multiple gay clubs. If you’re looking for something a little more laid-back, though, you may want to consider the Oasis Sens. As part of the Oasis Hotels group, which consists of 10 hotels and resorts in Cancun, the Oasis Sens is the chain’s adultsonly hotel, and it’s LGBT friendly. Seriously, as of January 2013, the term “LGBT friendly” became part of Oasis Sens’ official description.

in 2012. It’s one of two states in Mexico where gay and lesbian couples can legally marry. If you’re looking for a foreign destination for a wedding, you may want to keep Oasis Sens in mind. More options for LGBT individuals will be available in the future. Current plans include various entertainment options, including a new LGBT nightclub, parties, and excursions. Special packages for LGBT couples are also planned as offerings in the near future. So if you’re looking for a warm beach and cool waters outside of the country this summer, keep in mind the Oasis Sens. Act quickly, though—current packages are available at a remarkable 40% off standard rates.

Oasis Sens offers all-inclusive packages for visitors, includ- To find out more about Oasis Sens, visit oasishotels. ing access to two beach-facing pools, several bars and com or call 1-800-44-OASIS. restaurants (drinks and meals are included in the packages), evening shows, and a host of other activities. Do you want to explore Cancun? Better yet, do you want to take a day trip exploring Mexico beyond Cancun? The Oasis group hosts a fleet of SMART cars that are available to all guests for an insurance fee. It’s a great way to explore if you want to cover a lot of ground in a small amount of time. Springing for VIP status doesn’t hurt, either. The VIP experience gives guests deluxe suites, which include a private deck and a mini pool. There’s also access to exclusive bars and restaurants. Swimmers also gain access to a quiet, large pool facing the mainland. Finally, VIP guests have access to the Oasis private beaches on the Sian Ka’an biosphere reserve. Also worth noting: Cancun is part of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, where same-sex marriage became legal 24 // davidatlanta.com

GO GLOBAL WITH SPARTACUS By Elijah Sarkesian

G

oing all the way back to 1970, Spartacus International Gay Guide has provided the LGBT community with an annual guide to gay life in various countries and states all over the world. From bars to hotels, social organizations to sex shops—Spartacus is a comprehensive guide that’s remarkable in its breadth of knowledge. Let’s be clear: don’t open up Spartacus expecting in-depth historical information for locations around the world. The primary audience for Spartacus consists of gay tourists. Because of this, the book focuses on community features that may be of interest to tourists, including bars, hotels, beaches, saunas, and AIDS hotlines. The businesses highlighted are, in many areas, specifically gay businesses. In countries or cities without a notable gay-specific business infrastructure, gay-friendly businesses are also included. Each country’s section also includes a rundown of current laws regarding homosexuality in that area. Spartacus opens with a section on health, with specifics on HIV transmission and other sexually transmitted infections. Of course, carrying around a book like Spartacus may seem a bit old-school these days. In January 2012, Spartacus publisher Bruno Gmünder Media released the guide in app form for iPhone. In addition to all of the content from the printed book, the app includes locations on city maps with GPS, along with information on current activities, events, and specials. If there’s a word to summarize Spartacus, it’s “efficient.” While you won’t find a ton of details about any particular location business, both the book and the app include an astonishing amount of information. For the gay traveler, it’s a worthwhile investment. 26 // davidatlanta.com

IN THEATRES THIS WEEK Before J.J. Abrams takes off to another galaxy, audiences will get to see Star Trek Into Darkness, the follow-up to his critical and commercial revival of the Star Trek universe. We don’t know too much about what to expect, but we do know geek god Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC’s Sherlock, The Hobbit) is playing the mysterious antagonist, John Harrison (could he actually be the notorious Khan?). Really, though, as long as Into Darkness lives up to the promise of 2009’s Star Trek—and maybe adds some strong homoerotic tension between Chris Pine’s Kirk and Zachary Quinto’s Spock—fans should eat this up.

ALSO IN THEATRES: At Any Price: Henry Whipple (Dennis Quaid) wants his rebellious son Dean (Zac Efron) to take over the family’s expanding farming empire, while Dean wants to become a professional race car driver. An investigation into their business and an unexpected crisis end up pushing father and son together. Kon Tiki: Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl crossed the Pacific in a wood raft in 1947 with a small crew to prove that South Americans in pre-Columbian times could have crossed the sea and settled on Polynesian islands. Based on a true story. The Reluctant Fundamentalist: In 2011, a Pakistani man discusses his changing dreams since 2001, when his presence in America on 9/11 changes his plans in life.

Lost-n-Found Youth hosts a party to share future plans. Complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. For more information, visit lost-n-found.org.

JANE KRAKOWSKI A GODDESS AMONG US By Nicholas Grant

Jane Krakowski is a goddess. Residing in Greenwich Village with her husband and child, this Tony-winning and Emmy-nominated actress has come down to Earth to entertain and astonish us mere mortals. Luckily, for those of us who dwell in Atlanta, she is bringing her incomparable talents to the Alliance Theatre for a one-night concert event on May 18. The occasion is the Alliance’s annual A Tony Evening Gala, which benefits the Alliance’s education programming for youths and families. It’s hard to fathom that Krakowski has been performing over 30 years on stage, screen and television. Audiences first got a glimpse of her in National Lampoon’s Vacation (way back in 1983) when she informed her cousin that she was going steady and French kissed, and that her Daddy said she was the best at it. Since then the accolades have deservingly been piling up. Today, audiences know her best from her television roles as Jenna Maroney on 30 Rock and Elaine Vassal on Ally McBeal. Where Krakowski has really made her mark, though, is on Broadway. Her biggest honor to date is winning the 2003 Tony and Drama Desk awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her spellbinding performance in the Broadway revival of the musical Nine. Realizing that she first made that famous entrance from the ceiling of the O’Neill Theatre in New York City suspended by nothing but a long smooth piece of fabric was just about ten years ago is mind-blowing. What is even harder to believe is that the first time she fully experienced the effect was in front of a live audience. “The rigging arrived late, and it was installed the day of the first preview. The producers didn’t want to put it in that night, but I said that we were in the age of theatre chat rooms and we had to have it ready.” The cast and crew worked through dinner that evening. “We teched it at 6 p.m. and the show went up at 8 p.m. No one expected the reaction that it got. It was an inspired idea that just grew through rehearsals into a beautiful number. That first night is everything 42 // davidatlanta.com

that live theatre is about-the entire audience gasped and cheered. It was one of those moments, a truly amazing thing.”

started Grand Hotel from the first workshop and worked on it for about two years. It was an incredible experience—Tommy Tune was in such a creatively inspired time in his career.

Sometimes, as is the case in live theatre, the unplanned does happen.

“Everyone had a hand in it. When you get the opportunity to create a new musical, it becomes one of the most creative experiences you can have. I’m still very proud of the show that was created.”

“I never felt unsafe, but sometimes gravity would win out. I was only wearing a towel and sometimes the audience would get a little more of a show.”

Krakowski began work on Grand Hotel at the tender age of 17, meaning her first Tony nomination came before she was able to legally drink.

“Never did I think that I would be playing the role in Nine after seeing the original. I knew we had to do something completely different from Anita Morris (who originated the role of Carla on After Grand Hotel came revivals of Company and Once Upon stage).” a Mattress on Broadway, and a production of Guys and Dolls in London which earned her the 2006 Olivier Award for Best She famously reenacted her aerial entrance for the opening of Actress in a musical for her portrayal of the loveably love the annual Broadway Bares event that year. Broadway Bares deprived Miss Adelaide. is a fund raising event that features Broadway performers in burlesque style performances, with all proceeds going to “Guys and Dolls…I am so proud of that show, we had a great Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Krakowski remembers time. I had grown up in the time of Sondheim musicals and it this as one of the most memorable performances she has ever was freeing to do show where the characters just say what given. they feel.” “To look down and see a room (the Roseland Ballroom) filled with shirtless gay men cheering…gay audiences are the best audiences in the world. Awesomely loyal.” Her Tony Award now sits on a newly renovated shelf in her New York City apartment.

Zigzagging the span of entertainment, Krakowski has left her mark on every medium she has performed in, whether it is stage, screen or television. Her first love, however, is in the spotlight in front of a live audience. “Being in the theater, I have such a love for live theatre. The discipline that it is. The audience is different every night. I have

“It’s holding up some books. People kind of have to look and think ‘is that a, yeah, that’s a Tony.” Nine was not her first foray on the Great White Way, however. She made her Broadway debut in the roller-skating musical Starlight Express, and still straps on her skates from time to time. “Learning to roller skate for a show, it becomes a life skill. We brought it back for 30 Rock because Cheyenne Jackson and I were doing the workshop of Xanadu, and Tina (Fey) came to see it so she put it in the show.” After Starlight Express came her first starring role on Broadway. She originated (and was Tony nominated) for her performance as Flaemmchen, a typist with dreams of starring on the silver screen, in the hit production of Grand Hotel. Her show stopping number “I Want to Go to Hollywood” showed audiences the kind of magic they could expect from her for years to come. This would be the only role she would create on stage, however, as roles in revivals have dominated her career thus far. “When I first started doing this every show was a new musical. I didn’t now it would be the norm to act in revivals. I @DavidAtlantaGA // 43

had two amazing experiences on television shows though and I would love to have another experience like that.” For her next stage experience, she is hoping to once again create a new role for audiences. “Creating a new role would be at the top of my list. It’s such an amazing experience.” For her set at the Alliance Theatre, she will bring out some memorable tunes from her one woman show (The Laziest Gal in Town) along with some Broadway numbers and “some fun, sexy songs.” “This is a show made for Atlanta!” And we couldn’t be more thrilled to play host for one of the sexiest song birds out there, who can make us laugh with nothing more than a sly look and a twinkle in her eye, before she takes flight back to the land of the gods. Show Tickets for Jane Krakowski’s performance start at $60 and include a champagne and dessert reception post-show. Gala Tickets include dinner at the High Museum of Art, photo opportunities with Grover and Abby Caddaby of Sesame Street, a silent and live auction, the performance by Jane Krakowski and post show reception, and are $350 per person or $500 per couple. Patron Sponsorships for the event are still available starting at $1,500 and include exclusive benefits including a VIP reception with Krakowski. yers a l P e m i T Splatterd and Comedy Mix Mu r owe By Van G

O

nce again this year, the annual Georgia Renaissance Festival has been drawing hordes of devoted fans in search of an escape from modern times into a world of brave knights, busty maidens, bazaars, giant turkey legs, and unique entertainment.

person laughing so hard their skin turns inside out after eating one’s own head. I have to say: for me personally, the idea of a group of oft-shirtless manly men getting down and dirty in the mud is a bit of a turn-on. Would you guys be uncomfortable if you were ever to draw a contingent of gay male fans?

One entertainment act that has won over audiences for several years running is the Splatter Time Players. The one-of-a-kind entertainers have made a name for themselves by performing wry comedy skits and getting really, James: For what we do and the lifestyles we have lived, really, really muddy. there is very little that would make us uncomfortable in any situation. For years, we have always had small to large groups of gay men and gay women [fans]. And I tell David Atlanta talked to two of the Players, Dan Fox and ya, usually by the end of one of our shows, they are havJames Robert Singleton III, and the lowdown and dirty ing as much fun, if not more, than everyone else. We aim about their brand of entertainment. to not offend any race, sex, gender, etcetera of any sort. We welcome everyone to come experience our show. The Splatter Time Players seem to be a pretty freewheeling, outrageous troupe of goofballs. For people who may never have seen one of Dan: Uncomfortable? Ha! I’d prefer it. In my experience, your shows but are considering checking you ain’t nobody knows how to have fun like gay dudes. The show is a party on stage. Straight guys are usually out at the renaissance festival, what kinds of lunacy are they most likely to see? too uptight to let go and really have fun on a moment’s notice. Don’t get me wrong; they can have fun too, but it Dan: There is almost no telling what limits of crazy one takes a little more work to loosen them up to new things. can be a part of while watching and participating in a You know what I mean. show with the Splatter Time Players. From big burly men We gays love a good escapist event—whether acting as a princess, high dives into a shallow mud pit, it’s a pride festival, a sci-fi and fantasy convenchildren frosted like chocolate cakes, and possibly a 48 // davidatlanta.com

tion, or the Georgia Renaissance Festival—because it allows us to really step further outside the conventions of everyday expected behavior and really indulge in some uninhibited escapism. As you guys have performed at festivals across the country, have you ever been aware of gay folks in attendance or watching your shows? Dan: Let me tell you, Van. When you take off your shirt on stage and jump in the mud, gay dudes make themselves known. I think there is an environment of carefreeness at the fair where people are comfortable to be themselves without judgment. I mean, when there’s a guy in a Stormtrooper Star Wars suit and a kilt, the bar is pretty high for being outside of conventional behavior. There’s a part of our show where we take a male volunteer on stage and put a wig on him, then make him declare he loves both of us. The entire audience finds out just how comfortable he is with himself. Would I be correct in guessing that all of the splatter time players are strictly women’s men, or have there ever been some gay cast members flailing in the mud with you? Would you welcome gay players?

James: I have been doing mud shows since 2006, off and on. I have worked with multiple troupes. When I got to work with Dan the first time, I had never realized how much fun this job could really be. A few years later, we have our own show and multiple festivals across the country, as well as hiring two more people to do the shows with us. Does the troupe have the same set cast for all its appearances, or does the cast rotate members? We rotate members, which sounds dirty, but there are two roles in each show. The role I play is also played by Judah Andrews. The same with James and Todd; they play the same role. The nickname for my and Judah’s role is “The Talker.” For James and Todd, it’s “The Wiggler,” basically a funny man or straight man. What’s the central “message,” for lack of a less cerebral word, behind the splatter time players? When you guys are gleefully throwing each other through the air into the mud, what’s the point you’re getting across to your audiences? Dan: I’m very proud of our show and what it is that

Dan: We have four members in our Mud Show troupe and all are straight. Although, if you saw backstage before and after the show, you’d never guess it. We take six showers a day, sharing one shower, and twice as many costume changes a day. Add in the adrenaline from performing and the closeness of our friendship, and you get a lot of naked horseplay. As far as would we welcome a gay performer into our troupe? Of all the things required to do this job, that wouldn’t even come close to being a factor. Where did the original inspiration for the Splatter Time Players come from? Who were the silly dudes who created it? Dan: Mud Shows have been a part of Renaissance festival history long before we started doing them. James: We put our own twists and stories into it. The Sturdy Beggers started this whole trend, like, 25 some years ago. Dan: My partner James and I both worked for a guy who had been doing them for 15 years. We then branched off and formed our own group, Splatter Time Players, and I co-wrote the script with a very talented Julia Bemi. Atlanta was the first festival to give us a contract, and since then we’ve signed two more performers and work six festivals. @DavidAtlantaGA // 49

Dan: I blocked that memory. The best and most exhausting parts are the same, performing the show. When the crowd is big and the weather is good and the people are happy, it’s just the best damn job in the world! We get to dress like homeless people and say whatever is on our minds and people laugh. Then we get paid. It’s really the only job I have ever had where I feel like I’m exactly where I should be, doing exactly what I want to do. Hearing about 150 to 200 people laugh hard together at what you just said to them makes you feel 15 feet tall. Is the show designed to be allages appropriate, or does your brand of humor tend toward the blue and racy, at least in a Renaissance-themed way?

makes it funny. We want to take people out of their comfort zones. First laugh at us ‘cause we’re ridiculous, then laugh at life ‘cause it’s ridiculous. James: There is so much seriousness going on in the day-to-day that when you sit down and watch our show, you’re taken out of your box. For thirty minutes, you don’t remember the bills, the work, and the labor you have to put in every day to keep afloat.

Dan: I’d like to think it’s a perfect blend of both. It’s kid friendly, but at the same time there’s a undertone just for the grown-ups. In the future, we will develop both a strictly kids and strictly adult mud show. But a comedy show where kids and adults laugh genuinely is our ultimate goal. James: There are a handful of over-their-head adult jokes, but too high in the thought process for kids to be in harm’s way. Where are you guys headed after your gig at the Georgia Renaissance Festival wraps up?

Dan: The message I try to convey, and there is one, is stop taking things seriously. Thus, making a presumably straight male audience member act gay for us is a small but important part of our show.

Dan: After this, it’s off to Canada for a brand new festival near Ontario. Then we split into two separate groups of two. I’m off to Michigan with Todd Hibbler, and James to either New York or Kansas with Judah Andrews.

James: We want everyone to feel like a kid again.

James: For now, we’re at the Georgia Renaissance Festival doing the Mud Show four times a day, Saturday and Sunday, through June 2. Come on, boys. I want it to be raining men every weekend!

What’s the most fun thing about being a Splatter Time Player? The most exhausting? James: The most fun part of this for me is the audience responses. The laughter, the sighs, the smiles, the snorts of chuckling—it’s contagious and spreads like wild fire. The kids and adults both. The most exhausting is usually preparing the pit for the show. It’s like old-style prison labor. Dig a hole, fill it in, wet it down, and mix it up. For years here in Georgia, we had to hand sift one shovel full at a time—over 12,000 pounds of dirt—just to be ready for the show. 50 // davidatlanta.com

The Splatter Time Players are appearing at the Georgia Renaissance Festival’s “Mud Show” every Saturday and Sunday through June 2, including at David Days this Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19. Show times are noon, 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. each performing day. For more information on the group, visit their Facebook page or the Georgia Renaissance Festival at garenfest.com.

fairyscopes ARIES (March 20 – April 19): Your hard work will pay off on many fronts today. At work, you’ll get recognition for your diligence in the form of a raise or promotion. Romantically, a guy you’ve been wooing may finally see things your way when he decides that you’re not as bad as he originally thought.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22): Look closely at alliances today as some of them may not be in your best interest. Learn to distinguish from genuine people and those who just want to take advantage of you. Keep the real people close, then sweep the others out with the rest of the trash.

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20): Your energy levels

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21):

will be through the roof today. While this initially may seem like a good thing, people may find you too intense to be around. Find solo projects to work on or eat plenty of pasta or turkey at lunch that will make you lethargic for the remainder of the day.

Dissatisfaction with bedroom action may have you thinking about opening up your relationship. Think twice before taking such a step. There are better ways to work out sexual problems with your partner. Opening things up could spell the beginning of the end.

GEMINI (May 21- June 20): Romantic complications may arise today. Your first instinct will be to sweep them under the rug where you can’t see them, but in reality they will grow until they become a monster you can’t control or stop. Deal with man issues immediately or they’ll eventually eat you alive.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20): When dealing with relationship issues it’s important to look at all sides of the picture. It’s the small cracks in the foundation that will bring the building tumbling down, so focus on those first, before you continue building.

CANCER (June 21- July 22): You and your partner

CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19):

may not be seeing eye-to-eye lately, but there are ways to rectify the situation. Plan an old fashioned date for tonight. Send him flowers, go to a fancy dinner and then a movie. Maybe you two will find yourselves making out in the car, just like the old days.

Keeping your feelings to yourself could cause an explosion, nuclear in proportion. Whether it’s with friends, your partner or a therapist, letting your feelings be known could cool the fire raging inside.

LEO (July 23 – August 22): You make ostentation

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18): You have

an art, but a self-deprecating sense of humor keeps people from being turned off by your massive ego. But don’t go overboard with the chest thumping today. The public’s tastes are fickle, and they could start throwing stones.

a quirky personality, yet you stay grounded. Treading a line between eccentric and conventional can be tricky, but you’ve turned it into an art. Maybe that’s how you can pull off the business suit with the dreadlocks and Birkenstocks.

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22): An encounter with a guy from another culture may have you expanding your romantic horizons. Despite coming from different parts of the world, the ethos will be the same, and you two may have more in common than you think. You can learn a lot from him.

PISCES (February 19 – March 19): Take those old love letters from ex-boyfriends and throw them on the fire today. Reading them over and over only leaves you pining for the past. Yesterday is gone, leaving you with today and tomorrow. It’s up to you as to where you want to live.
