our self-worth on external stimuli will never lead to selflove. As we learn together how to love ourselves, I implore you to start each day with a constant reminder of just how worthy you are of love. Tell yourself, “I am beautiful. I am love. I can love and I can be loved” and then saturate yourself in the wholesome feelings of self-acceptance that follows. Using affirmations to train your mind to love “you” first is a powerful step towards self-love. We all have things about ourselves that we wish we could change. Life shows up. Learning how to dance through the rain will go a long way towards becoming that strong person who can not only embrace pain, but also live through it to learn the lesson. There is liberating power in looking at our difficulties in life by the lessons we get to learn. Let’s face it; living life on life’s terms isn’t always easy to do; especially when it relates to matters of the heart. But trust me, it’s better to learn the lesson, than it is to prolong the pain. We have all been guilty of holding on to pain that we should have let go many years ago. Our parents didn’t accept us. Our peers made us feel less than. The church damned us to hell. Get over it and let it go! The only person that you can change is yourself. I have learned to replace my greatest pain with love.
H
appiness in relationships begins with “self” acceptance. Many people desire better relationships with their significant others, but lack self-love and self-confidence to achieve it. Many of us never learned how to love ourselves on a deeper level and, as a result, sought out unhealthy relationships with unhealthy people that never had the capacity to love us in the first place.
Our attention has been on marriage equality for the past few years. It’s important to note that marriage equality means equal freedoms to marry, but the inverse is freedoms to divorce. It is absolutely critical that as we begin to seek out husbands and wives, that we first assess whether we love ourselves. Thirtyseven percent of the population still disagrees with marriage equality. As such, the onus is on us as responsible gay men and women to show the 37%’ers that we respect the sanctity of marriage; we love ourselves first, we respect ourselves, we understand self-acceptance, and we are equipped and prepared to love our spouses with the same passion and fervor that they have grown to enjoy.
Sigmund Freud, who believed that our need for love was centered on the need for an “ego ideal” or image of the person that we wanted to become and of whom we held in high respect, developed one of our first theories of love. Love was more than talking the talk, but it also included walking the walk. There was no tolerance for microwave love. Love was defined by action and not just words. Unfortunately, today our perceptions of love has become so skewed that we end up in relationships looking for love in all the wrong places and all the wrong faces. Granted, many of us had challenging childhoods were we had parents and loved ones who never loved us quite like we thought we should be loved. We then jumped into relationships with the first person that came along that expressed some interest in us, hoping that he or she would love us until we learned to love ourselves. This “fake it until you make it” syndrome has permeated our relationships and has become the rule instead of the exception. Being in a healthy and committed relationship, gay or straight, starts with us learning how to happily love ourselves. Basing 18 | 7.1.15

Big Flavor, Big Fun A Sensual Guide to Playing With Your Meat by Jonathan Bugg

th of July means meat! Thanksgiving brings turkey with all the trimmings. Easter features ham centering the family table. Corned beef & cabbage are boiled every St. Patrick’s Day. But, for smoke-seasoned platters overflowing with America’s favorites, for Independence Day – Bring Us The Meat!
Consider soaking your meat. Marinades boost flavor, juiciness, and tenderness. There are plenty of recipes. But, during my youth, we always soaked daddy’s meat in cream. He’d come home with a favorite hunk of beef, and we’d make a game of bathing his meat in creamy goodness, then wrapping it tight to rest overnight on ice. If prefer a dry seasoning, this is the moment. There are many varieties. Yet, keeping it simple often delivers best results. Coarse sea salt and fresh ground black pepper lovingly rubbed all over will deeply season the meat and make the flavors burst in your mouth. Now it’s time to get some heat on your meat. Light that fire. Get it hot. An excellent professional tip is to place your beef directly over the red-hot coals for an initial smoky sear. After the meat has achieved a good color, move it over a cooler portion of the flame. You’ll get a delectable pink center that begs you to take a taste.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and Endless Laughter!
by Jeffery Silvey
W
hen the lights come up on the Horizon Theatre’s production of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, we first see an empty morning room that overlooks a lake. The room is adorned and accessorized with various items and tchotchkes, including books, pictures, and the Game of Life board game. The entirety of the play takes place around the stagnant board game and appropriately so. After all, that’s what this play is about: Life.
siblings: brother and sister Vanya and Masha, and their adopted sister Sonia. While Masha has been traveling the world as a successful actress, Vanya and Sonia have remained at their childhood home taking care of their parents. Now that they’re all approaching the middle years of their lives, it seems that no one is sure of himself or herself anymore. Once they all come together they are able to find new meaning and inspiration, not only for each other, but also for themselves.
Tess Kincaid, an Atlanta based actress who plays the role of movie star Masha, says that the play focuses on the idea of “going home to find yourself again.” Even though Vanya and Sonia are already at their “homes,” the play reiterates that home doesn’t necessarily have to be a physical place, but it can be a place or time where people are joined together. “Once they’re all back together they have a real sense of home,” says The play, much like Chekhov’s Three Kincaid. While the story of these three Sisters, focuses on the lives of three siblings coming back together to figure Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike won Christopher Durant, the playwright, the Tony Award for Best Play. He created a modern comedy by creating homage to the legendary playwright Anton Chekhov. He took plot elements from different Chekhov plays and even three of the four titular character names and blended them all into one unique and hilarious story.

out their lives is a great one, it is even better thanks to the humor of the play. “The humor is delightful,” says Kincaid, “and the fact that it is accessible to anyone whether they know Chekhov or not is great fun!” That accessibility is something that the Horizon theatre and their crew have worked on to great effect. While the set design of the play evokes architecture and accessory references to Chekhov’s work, as well as several lines of the dialogue, the play goes so much further than that. Pop culture is referenced a lot, with Snow White, Carly Rae Jepsen, Maggie Smith, iPods, and voodoo all being parts of the show. The play is written in a way to provide an inside joke to each audience member, and the way the cast members handle each joke makes you feel like you’re in on it all. Under Justin Anderson’s direction, this cast shines with each of their punchlines and their effortless and entertaining humor.

Dive Into the Pool Joining Hearts Main Event
T
he Piedmont Park Aquatic Center is asked often if they will rent out the space for parties. The answer is always no. Joining Hearts is the only social event that they allow. Why is that? Because every single dollar raised is donated to the charities that Joining Hearts supports. The Piedmont Park Conservancy will only allow 501(c)3 charities to rent the space. They wish to keep it a family oriented pool, closing it down basically at sundown each day. Except this one evening a year.
As always, there are several different tiers of general and VIP tickets to choose from. The Ultra VIP Lounge level garners you and five of your friends a pre-party early admission with passed food and drink, plus a special performance by the Armorettes. During the party you’ll also have your very own tented cabana overlooking the whole pool area. The VIP level also allows you early admission to the pre-party and Armorette show, as well as VIP bathrooms and premium bar access. Finally the general admission allows you entry at 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. including your enjoyment of both DJ and the special guest performance by Debbie Holiday.
This year’s theme “DIVE” has a retro theme. “We’re always look for exciting ways to keep the event fresh and different” explains Director of Events, Steve Cainas. “As a result, we’re incorporating performance elements like Debby Holiday and The Armorettes.” The goal of Joining Hearts is to surpass the $2 million mark as the total amount Included in the exciting lineup of perform- collected for their beneficiaries since ers is an opening set by famed Miami DJ, 1987. MATT BOMER:
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYES Magic Mike star on telling his kids he’s in a stripper movie, Channing flattery and indecent gyrations by Chris Azzopardi 28 | 7.1.15
photos: Warner Bros.
Matt Bomer is not buying all the buzz about Matt Bomer.
MB : I don’t think they do! I think that’s sheer fallacy and kindness on the part of others. (Laughs) No – I’m still just trying to wake up in the morning with the kids, so I don’t really have time to think about that. More like, “Do I look like I got five hours of Channeling his trademark charm, the actor calls it “sheer fal- sleep last night?!” lacy” that anyone – let alone heterosexual men – could possibly find his piercing baby-blue eyes swoon-worthy. DA: So there’s a gay bar scene in Magic Mike XXL. And then there’s his body. On display in all its near-nakedness in Magic Mike XXL, Bomer is modest about his sculpted physique. You expect it, of course. The 37-year-old dreamboat – just ask Channing Tatum – was born in Missouri and raised in Texas, and he hasn’t strayed from his humble Southern roots despite scorching screen after screen. Not just with a striptease, either. His Golden Globe-winning performance as Felix Turner in HBO’s powerful adaptation of Larry Kramer’s 1985 play The Normal Heart was a tear-jerking tour de force. And soon, Bomer will bring the spooks, starring alongside Lady Gaga during the upcoming American Horror Story: Hotel, another collaboration with Ryan Murphy (both worked together previously on Glee and The New Normal).
MB: How great is that, to have a gay bar scene with a full-on drag show and some of the best voguers in the world? I mean, it was like a little vogue ball going on. DA: It’s good to see you have more lines in XXL. MB: Well, that wouldn’t be hard. I would only have had to say, like, two or three words to have more lines than I had in the first one. (Laughs) DA: And the singing! You get to cover D’Angelo’s “Untitled (How Does It Feel).” MB: Oh my god. I mean, that was the best white man’s attempt I could make at that song. I just tried to stay in the game, man. I mean, that vocal and that song – I couldn’t believe we were even trying to touch it.
We talked to Bomer about geeking out to Gaga, explaining Magic Mike to his sons and how Channing Tatum made him blush. DA: Were you intimidated? David Atlanta: You and your Magic Mike co-star Channing Tatum recently made a surprise appearance at LA Pride. As a gay man yourself, what was it like having Channing show his support for you and the rest of the LGBT community?
MB: Of course! The whole thing was Channing’s idea. We did the first movie on a tiny budget, and we entertained the extras between takes. One time he just threw them right in front of my face and was like, “Do something entertaining.” That’s the creative, spontaneous soul that Channing is, and Joe (Manganiello) has known me since we were 18 and so (Joe) was like, “You Matt Bomer: It’s one of the many things that makes him the should sing something!” And I was like, “What do I sing?” magnanimous, amazing, cherished soul that he is. It was his Channing was like, “I don’t know – sing some Jodeci.” And so idea, to be honest with you. And he didn’t have to do it. The I did! reality of the situation is, it wasn’t some PR move on his part – he wanted to be inclusive, and that’s a big part of who he is He remembered that for the second movie. He was like, “Why as a human being. So, given the opportunity to work with him, don’t you sing something? What song would you sing?” I was and really everybody in this cast – they’re just a great example like, “Obviously the sexiest song of all time is ‘How Does It Feel’ of what we all can be, which are people who are secure in them- by D’Angelo, but I’m not gonna touch that song.” He was like, selves, and loving and accepting of people no matter who they “Why don’t you give it a try?” So I basically recorded a vocal are and where they come from. over a karaoke track, more or less – I ended up singing it live in the movie – but that recording is basically what we used to DA: Channing was very complimentary toward you in his choreograph the piece and what we based the eventual perforrecent Reddit AMA interview. He said he “absofucking- mance on. lutely” gets lost in your eyes, and that “I don’t know what they are made of outside of dreams and rainbows and DA: What do you remember thinking the first time you amazingness…” How did you react when you learned of saw D’Angelo bare almost all during the “Untitled” video? his enthusiasm for you? MB: Honestly, I got Voodoo as soon as it came out (in 2000), and MB: (Laughs) I mean, obviously, I blushed. Knowing Channing, I remember hearing that song and just playing it over and over and what a kind soul he is, I guess when you’re the most hand- again. I think I was like, “How do you get that jacked? How do you get in that kind of shape?” And then I was also like, DA: Your eyes get a lot of attention from a lot of people. “Was he really naked?!” Have they always stopped traffic? davidatlanta.com | 29
MB: I’ll be honest with you, it was for me, man. I went from Normal Heart into the last season of a show I’d done for six years (USA’s White Collar, 2009-2014), and then into a couple of more serious roles in other films, and this was the perfect break. The thing about being an actor is you approach your work the same regardless of what the role is or what the genre is or what the themes are – you try to put the same amount of work into it – but it was certainly nice and a breath of fresh air to get to chill out and have fun with these guys. DA: You came out publicly in 2012, and you handled it with so much grace and subtlety. These days, there’s a lot of pressure on Hollywood actors to take that step. Where do you stand on the role of public Hollywood figures in terms of advancing the gay movement? MB: You know, it’s not my business to get up on a soapbox and tell people what they should and shouldn’t do. I think one thing that people don’t always take into consideration is a holistic aspect of what may or may not be going on in that individual’s life – you know, what kind of relationship they have with their family, how the people around them feel about it. But for me, having kids and being married, it was important to maintain the integrity of those relationships and not teach my kids that this is a shameful secret and that my husband (Simon Halls) has to be waiting in the wings all the time. So that’s why it was important to me personally. By the same token, I don’t hold anyone else accountable. It’s their choice. DA: Now onto American Horror Story. According to a tweet from Ryan Murphy, Lady Gaga has to choose between you and actor Finn Wittrock during the upcoming MB: Oh please! Not even. season of American Horror Story: Hotel. First of all, have DA: As they get older, how will you explain Magic you even read the script yet? Mike to your three sons? MB: (Laughs) That’s a great question. You’re the first person MB: You know, I think the dialogue has already begun. I who’s started with that question, which I think is, ultimately, think it’s dangerous to just ignore something. Fortunately the most important question. I’ve read a couple of them. I wish I or unfortunately there are billboards on the way to their could tell you more. Honestly, I have no specifics of who’s playschool, so when I’m driving them to school in the morning ing which role and what Finn is playing, but I have a tremendous – the first couple of times I tried to duck my head – they amount of respect for him as an actor and a person, and I’m realize it’s me. So, I told them when I was doing the movie, incredibly excited to work with Stefani (Germanotta, aka Lady “This is a movie I’m doing where we play dancers and we Gaga) as well and see what she brings to the table. And listen, have fun and we try to entertain these ladies.” I try to frame Ryan is a creative genius. He really is. Nobody does a show quite it in a context that they can understand so that they’re not like he does, so I’m really excited to get to play in that twisted just operating in the dark and going, “Why is my dad na- and beautiful world they’ve created. In terms of a real conversation as to what that is, that probably won’t start until they’re teenag- DA: How have the moves you’ve learned from doing two Magic Mike movies been an asset to you in your own life? ers. (Laughs) DA: And now you are that jacked in Magic Mike.
MB: Um, they haven’t been. (Laughs) First of all, after we finished the first film, my sister got married shortly thereafter, and I took some of my new gyrations to the dance floor at her wedding reception. I realized very quickly, after getting some scathing looks from my cousins, that some things are just best left in the club and not brought to your sister’s wedding reception party. Like, “Oh, I better check myself – I’m not in Magic Mike DA: As an actor, what’s it like to go from a role in a anymore!” (Laughs) movie that’s as intense as The Normal Heart to Magic Mike XXL? Is that balance critical for you as a person? For the full interview check out davidatlanta.com The interesting thing about kids is, they don’t care what you do so much or what other people think about you; they’re more interested in what your relationship with them is like and how you prioritize them in your life. I try to make a strong effort to make them know they’re always number one for me.

Our World Has Changed for the Better But What Does That Mean? by Jason Meitelski
I
n a landmark decision recently released by the US • Supreme court, same-sex couples have now been legitimized and have the freedom to marry in all fifty states. After a decades long fight for equal rights, our day has finally arrived! Emotions are high, tears have been shed, and marriages have been proposed as couples and families can now be made whole. Same-sex marriage carries a variety of connotations to each of us as individuals, but what are the benefits we’ll gain under the blanket of the law? Quite a few, as you’ll see below: • •

Married LGBT Military Members: They no longer have to worry about getting married in a state that allows same-sex marriage, only to be transferred to a state that doesn’t recognize it, which would effectively nullify their union. They can be now be proud to serve and protect their country that recognizes them as first- • class citizens. Also, spouses of LGBT Military personnel that transition from active duty to retired will have full access to veteran’s benefits in ALL states. Social Security Benefits: Social Security is important because it provides the sole means of support for many Americans who have been disabled or retired. Surviving partners of a deceased recipient and those raising a minor child are eligible to receive those benefits. LGBT spouses will now be able to get those benefits previously unattainable to us. For example, a child of a previously unmarried gay man receiving Social Security would have received nothing after he died; and now that child may receive seventy-five percent of those benefits.

Federal Inheritance Tax: No longer will LGBT couples who invest time and money in mutually acquired property have to sell what they own and pay the Federal Government a FORTY PERCENT inheritance tax on their partner’s share. Same-sex partners can now marry and rest assured knowing the IRS won’t come to take what’s rightfully theirs at a moment when they should be allowed to mourn in peace. Hospital, Visitation and Funeral Rights: Married LGBT couples no longer have to worry about hospital staff or judgmental family members denying their access to their partner’s hospital room or funeral services. LGBT partners now have the right to care for their spouses or grieve with dignity. Employer Subsidized Health Care Benefits: SameSex married couples can now legally enroll their spouses and their children in their employer-provided healthcare programs. No more worries about sick children and spouses: everyone’s covered via the fundamental right to marry.
President Obama knocked it out of the park when he said, “If we are truly created equal, then the love we commit to one another should be recognized as equal. And it finally is.” Thanks to the brave LGBT people who stood up against society in the fight for equal rights, from the drag queens at Stonewall to Harvey Milk and Barney Frank, we’ve finally been recognized as equal citizens in this country and can enjoy the freedom to marry the one we love.

Get Your Bear Fix Atlanta Bear Fest 2015 by Dustin Shrader
I
t is that time of year again! Southern Bears is back with its annual Atlanta Bear Fest dedicated to be full of more fun and fur than any bear lover can handle.
Founded some 22 years ago, Southern Bears Club’s ABF strives to set itself apart from other runs. Dedicated to providing a more laid back and sociable run, Southern Bears President John Beck says they work to keep things warm and friendly for all participants.
lover can participate and meet hot locals under certain circumstances they might not normally be able. ABF 2015 is a four day event, taking place the weekend of July 2 – July 5. Held at the Courtyard Marriot in Atlanta, Bear Fest will include: “two open bars at the host hotel, three meals (South of the Border Buffet, Fruit Bar, Atlanta Eagle Island Cook-out) & Breakfast Buffet ($3 off coupon), pool parties with DJ Eric and complimentary soft drinks and bottled water for all pool parties.”
“As a club, we try very hard to make sure people are included and made to feel welcome. For many people in the bear community, this and other runs are a major form of socialization with others in the bear community. They get to see old friends they have known for years, meet people in person they have only talked to online and meet new Unlike last year’s Christmas in July theme, people with whom they develop long this year’s Bear Fest will be taking you down “South of the Border,” very reminisfriendships,” explains Beck. cent of a “classic spaghetti western”. An all day pool party with DJ Eric and an open fruit bar will keep things rocking through Friday, while Saturday ups the ante with a second DJ Eric pool party, the ABF photo shoot, “South of the Border” buffet, games at the pool and awards for “Best of Show.” Sunday wraps up the festivities with a Farewell Cookout at The Eagle. Although ABF is a guaranteed “fun” time for one and all, Beck reveals its main focus this year will be to raise money for club events and local charities. The organization is currently working towards raising a $5,000 goal for Lost-N-Found Youth.

From Porn to Norm Adult Film Star Jumps to Indie Acting by Jason Mietelski
Y
ou may know him best from his roles in porn hits such as “Perfect Fit,” where he starred alongside the inimitable Aiden Shaw, or Chi Chi LaRue’s “Detention”, which earned him a Grabby Award in 2003 for “Best Group Sex Scene”. But these days Johnny Hazard has reinvented himself as an Indie film actor with depth and skill, going by the name given to him at birth, Frankie Valenti. In 2008 he was part of the main cast in the here! original series, The Lair, starring as Tim, a wayward landscaper and botanist’s assistant. But these days Frankie Valenti has blossomed into something grand, making his debut splash into the feature length filmmaking arena, starring in Tiger Orange, directed by Wade Gasque, Mark Strano and Paul Della Pelle. Before sitting down to watch Tiger Orange—I’ll admit—I was as skeptical as the critics, and I wasn’t expecting much; but the movie, and Frankie in particular, challenged my preconceived notions of what it means to be porn star turned actor and make a poignant film. The writing and directing was relatable to just about any one— gay men in particular—the characters were incredibly human, and Todd, played by Frankie Valenti, was so real and convincing that I felt like I’d known him my whole life. The story, which portrays two diametrically opposite gay brothers who’ve reunited after their father’s death, is brilliant in its simplicity and authentic performances and characterizations.
David Atlanta: In the movie, Tiger Orange, how were you able to relate to your character, Todd? Frankie Valenti: Todd and I had a lot of similarities in life and childhood, so it was really easy for me to know what he was feeling, what he was thinking, and what he would do next. DA: What did you have to do to prepare for this role? FV: I had to work with Mark Strano (who played his brother, Chet), to understand the way that he works as an actor…and I just kind of drew from my personal experiences when playing the role of Todd. DA: What, if any, challenges, did you face while filming Tiger Orange? FV: The only challenges were the hours—the night shoots were very difficult to get through physically. And learning the finer mechanics of lights, cameras, and filming angles. You know, it’s just the matter of learning a new skill. DA: How did you feel about the dynamic between Todd and Chet, two gay brothers with such different views and levels of self-acceptance?
I recently had a chance to chat with the 37 year old Valenti, who grew up in what he calls a loving, “Beaver Cleaver” family in Ohio, FV: I thought it was great. They did an excellent job writing and illusand just happened into film by chance (which surprised me, since he trating the story. It wasn’t cheesy or clichéd like many gay themed seems like such a natural!): films. It was genuine and there’s not much I would’ve changed. 38 | 7.1.15
davidatlanta.com | 39
DA: How do you feel about the state of the gay-themed film industry? FV: I think it’s finally growing up a little bit, judging by the movies I’ve seen at the film festival. When I was growing up they were all pretty much the same bubble gum, really gay clichéd movies, and now they’ve grown up. They’re more serious now, and not just about some drag queens and two gay boys getting drunk in West Hollywood. DA: What is your advice for gay youth and the younger readers of David Atlanta Magazine? DA: Personally I loved the scene when Todd gave the doll to the little boy in the hardware store. Was the anger Todd displayed toward the boy’s mother an accurate representation of your views on homophobia, and could you shed some light on how you think we could change the public’s attitude toward accepting children who display signs of being different?
FV: My advice for gay youth is to talk to the elders of the gay community and not be so grossed out by them, because they’ve worked hard in making it easier for the younger generation to come out. I think the upcoming kids have no idea of what it used to be like for gays. I mean, I don’t even know what it used to be like, but in speaking to people I do have a general idea. And I think it’s important for kids to realize it wasn’t always this easy, and that gays weren’t always on television, and Will and Grace wasn’t always a hit show. FV: Well I’d read the script, obviously, so I knew the story from It was hard, people died, and it sucked, and I think it’s their responstart to finish. And I knew what the opening scene was, when sibility to understand that. Todd and Chet were boys and the issue with the doll, so I knew there was going to be some unresolved internal resentment on DA: Is there anything else you could add to help us unTodd’s part. So I feel like it’s up to the parents to educate them- derstand who Frankie Valenti is and what he represents selves. And it’s been my experience that these type of parents to the community? are often more accepting when their son wants to wear a dress to school or play with Barbies, or their little girl wants to wear FV: Hopefully I’ll be one of, or the one, porn star who makes the sweat pants. And in my opinion, experience and circle of friends, transition into film successfully. That’s my goal; I wanna be the one it’s these parents who are taking the view of “let them be who who does it. they are”. DA: Speaking of porn: have you had to deal with any DA: Did filming this movie shape you in any way regard- social stigma when making the transition into film acting? ing acting and the film industry? FV: Nothing really obvious, at least not to my face. But I know from FV: Oh yes! This film helped me realize and perfect a certain set being in both ends of the business that there were some serious of skills that I’d never been able to experience! It’s definitely doubts as to my level of performance, and I think a lot of critics changed the way I look at a movie now. I used to watch movies were walking into with it with an open mind, but were leaning more and simply say, “That was good,” or, “That was bad,” and never towards how bad they thought it was gonna be. But after all is said really go beyond that. But when you’re working closely with a and done, I know that ninety-five percent of the reviews have been director and a camera and a cinematographer and you finally quite favorable and most have been very supportive. do watch a movie or something on TV, you see things beyond what’s there on the screen. You see the way it was shot, edited, Unfortunately, Frankie Valenti has no plans of visiting Atlanta soon, cut, and all the little things that go into making a film. but when he does, I assured him we’ll welcome him with open arms! DA: What are your future filmmaking plans?
You can watch Tiger Orange for $3.99 on Amazon Instant Video, or go to https://tigerorangemovie.wordpress.com to FV: I don’t have anything solid right now—I just have the will- pre-order the DVD, set to be released on Tuesday, July 7. ingness and hope that something will come along. With the re- Or you might want to check out some of Frankie’s earlier release of Tiger Orange to a vast number of people I’m hoping Johnny Hazard films so you can see what he’s working that will lead to some more projects in the future. with! advice
Dear Dom, Sexually transmitted diseases are freaking me out. I’ve never caught one, but just the thought makes my skin crawl. Every time I try to hook-up, I back out at the last minute. What can I do? Scared Of Sex Safe sex ads are setting off all kinds of alarms, SOS. Fearmongering is the dark cousin of education. You’re not the only one distressed by these messages.
Dear Dom,
A recent campaign by AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the nation’s largest AIDS organization which recently joined with AID Atlanta, asks, “Do you trust him?” That ad, and others like it, are stirring controversy and anxiety. “This stigmatizing view of sex and trust is both reductive in personal responsibility and stigmatizing towards HIVpositive people,” says activist and senior editor of HIV Equal Online. “It suggests that people living with the disease are akin to criminals who lie in order to have sex, or even spread the virus.”
Every Single Question... Every Single Answer
The way to fight fear is to build trust, SOS. Talk candidly with your partner about your worries. Be real. There’s a very good chance he’s got the same thoughts in his head, too. Open lines of communication before bedtime will always lead to more trust between the sheets.
Dear Dom,
Dear Dom,
I can’t lose my belly fat. Last year, I started a weight loss program and dropped almost fifty pounds. I work out everyday, ride a bicycle frequently, and eat right. But, it seems impossible to get rid of my last annoying roll of fat. What am I doing wrong?
I’ve got a cat. My boyfriend has a dog, We’re finally moving in together after a year of dating. How can I be sure our two pets aren’t going to fight?
Why Am I Still Tubby?
Nothing could be more terrifying than watching an animal eat your pussy, MEOW. When two animals start sharing a home, there are sure to be territorial squabbles. Same with humans.
The best thing about losing weight, WAIST, is you can finally see your cock again. You can see it, right? Well, never mind. “The secret to losing those last few pounds is not dieting or exercise,” explains Stor Mückler, the famed Swedish personal trainer. He offers three ideas to tackle your tummy, none of them involve treadmills or kettle balls. 1. Water. “Flushing away body waste means drinking plenty of water,” urges Mückler. “Four litres [about one gallon] daily is a good. No diet drinks. No sports drinks. Water only.” 2. Breathe. “To burn fuel an engine needs air,” he says. “Fat is fuel. Air burns it. Breathe more means burn more.” 3. Relax. “Stress is very bad for weight loss,” says Mückler. “Sleep more. Rest more. Don’t stress.” Heck, if you’re hydrated, breathing, and relaxed, WAIST, you’re virtually guaranteed to get a peek at your pecker after all. 56 | 7.1.15
Moving Each Other’s Wildlife
Allow your pets to meet one another in a relaxed setting. If you boys remain calm, there’s a high likelihood that Fido & Fluffy will follow suit. Yet, it’s always smart to be prepared. Have their crates handy, the vet on speed dial, and get your PETA membership renewed. Your pussy might be delicious.

You might find that your brain is moving in the slow lane. It may even be creeping over to the breakdown lane. You might find that it’s a bit harder to make your witty rebuttals in conversation. Take your time and make sure you choose your words carefully.
Words may not be the best way to communicate things this week. Body language, touch, and taste will be much more effective. You will find that your senses are heightened. Let your feet follow your nose and go enjoy a good meal with someone special.
Things may get quite intense this week. There will be a great deal of information coming your way, but it might not all be that good. It seems that someone is putting a roadblock in your path, making it difficult for you to pass. Don’t let this stop you.
Your head may buzz with activity. Suddenly it seems like the spotlight has been turned on. You’re on stage and your brainpower is being tested. Are you up to the challenge? Ready or not, it’s here. Remember the importance of individuality. Be your own person and think for yourself.
Focus on the simple pleasures. Don’t feel like you have to go to distant lands or engage in expensive recreational activities to find happiness and peace. Realize that everything you need is inside. Delight in nature. Smile at the Sun, Moon, and stars.
Focus on your creative mind this week. This is a fertile time to plant seeds that will surely grow up healthy and strong. You have the ability to be prosperous now, but it won’t come easily. The key for you now is to stay cool. Don’t overreact to the little annoyances that come your way. 58 | 7.1.15

Motivation must come from within right now. The only thing that can pull you out of bed is your inner drive. Too much partying may leave you spent to the point where you don’t want to move. Remember to keep things in moderation. Be good to your body.
Your mind should be clear and communications should go extremely well for you. Very few words will be needed to get your point across. You will connect to people on many levels. Realize that you have important information to share with those around you.
Strong forces may act up this week and ask you to stand up a little straighter than usual. Keep your shoulders back and be proud. Don’t think any less of yourself just because there is disagreement between you and others. Maintain respect for your opinions.
Feel free to take the lazy route this week. Don’t lift a finger if you don’t have to. It may be hard to get others moving, too. You can prod all you want, but if people don’t want to go, they aren’t going to go. Your flexible nature might be tested.
Your thinking is steady and reserved right now. Your mind is right in line with your ego, and you will be able to accurately verbalize what is going on inside. You might be a bit reserved in how much you tell people. It could be that others are holding back information from you.
This is an excellent week to say exactly how you feel. Your thinking is sharp and clear. Once you start talking, you may never stop. People will listen extra carefully to your words. You have a great deal of influence, so realize how much impact you have on the environment.

If you’re going to play sports in the park in this heat, please do us a favor and shower before you hit the bars.
You are pretty: pretty stupid, pretty ignorant, and pretty intolerable.
Having guys over all week isn’t perverted. It’s the fact that you are all fucking and sucking high on meth! And you wonder why we’re judged like nasty perverts!
Tanned skin is damaged skin and you’ll find out soon enough.
I wish I could buy him for what he’s worth and sell him for what he thinks he’s worth!
Shit happens... I mean, look at your face.

Caitlyn could have a breast surgically placed on her forehead and I still wouldn’t give two f*cks.
Great, now we can get married and divorced and be as unhappy as anybody else.
Did Bianca Del Rio rip off her act from the late great Joan Rivers? It feels like she did. If some of these drag queens in town get any uglier, they’re going to have to stop using stage lights all together.
