One of my favorite moments was listening to Howard Hesseman (famous for WKRP in Cincinnati) tell an enraptured room of aspiring screen writers, about his film experiences. Like, while filming Dragnet in the late ‘60’s, it was a PA’s job to fan away the cigarette smoke. Apparently, it was normal for the entire film crew to smoke behind camera back then. But, you didn’t want it to show on film. There are a billion stories like that one, all thanks to the great Guests I’ve met through Dragon Con the past 15 years. I have some really great panels lined up this year and there are tons of GLBTQ related panels, Guests, and events. You owe it to yourself to come hear their awe-inspiring stories, and more importantly...come be a part of the biggest multi-media party on the planet. I can’t imagine a better way of documenting what happens at the show this year, so I’ll be back in a couple of weeks with a post-Dragon Con wrap up! It’s sure to be pretty eye-opening... and as always...Live Long and Prosper!
Tony’s 2015 Panel Schedule Friday, September 4
Dragon Con, the Greatest Show on Earth! Celebrating 29 years in Atlanta, it’s easy to see why 65,000 pop culture and multi-media fans are obsessed with Dragon Con. The costumes, the concerts, the contests, the celebrities in the Walk of Fame, the hundreds and hundreds of hours of event programming, the Art Show, the Vendor Halls, the list goes on and on! This Labor Day weekend, if you›ve waffled this long on whether or not you›re going to Decadence, you need to just buck up and realize you’re not going. So, pick up the pieces and head downtown to see all of the amazingly cool stuff to see and do at Dragon Con.

I’m excited that there will be over 400 Guests from favorite film and television shows, signing autographs and on hand to answer Q&As for tons of panels. Some of which, I am moderating this year.
Sunday, September 6
One of my jobs for Dragon Con, is that of a panel moderator. On the surface, it seems like a really easy gig. ‘I meet a celebrity, handle fan Q&A, and that’s it!’
Monday, September 7
Well, as we all know about life and work...sometimes, it just doesn’t go as planned. A Guest can run late, and I’m left to entertain thousands of fans that did not come to see me. And the always favorite situation - the fan that asks a particularly sensitive question, creating an ‘aca-awkward’ moment that I have to swoop in, and smooth over. It’s a delicate balance, but I love the energy of the excited fans. There’s really nothing better than sharing a really intimate conversation with someone you idolize. 22 | 9.2.15

our hours south of Atlanta and just past the Garden of Good and Evil lays the seemingly sleepy southern town of Savannah, Georgia. It is surrounded by old architecture and southern manners, but come September 12, it will be host of a glorious Pride Celebration.
grounds will host a music festival from September 4 through September 7, in order to raise money for charity and Savannah Pride. Meanwhile the First City Network, the oldest gay political movement in Georgia that was born out of Savannah, will host a fundraising barbecue in Savannah on September 6.
Although Savannah has clung to its historical ties, deep-rooted traditions, and glamour of the past, it is surprisingly a very progressive southern city. This year’s Savannah Pride will be the sixteenth pride celebration that the city has seen. It is the third largest festival that Savannah hosts and this year they are anticipating 9,000 people to attend, and with the list of parties and events it is no wonder why.
Tuesday, September 8, will be the official launch of Pride week in Savannah. The Jepson center at the Telfair Museum will feature the “Come as You Are” retrospective of the 1990s civil rights movement. The exhibition will highlight the struggles of the LGBTQ community, as well as the struggles of African-Americans, Hispanics, and Latinos. The exhibition is free for the community to attend.
The big event of the Pride Celebrations will take place on Saturday, September 12, in the beautiful Forsyth Park. While previous performers have included teen star Jojo, this year the big ticket acts are eight top notch local Savannah acts. “This isn’t gay pride,” says Hill. “It’s Savannah Pride because we celebrate the diversity of the city. This is the one time of the year where everyone can be themselves with no judgment and we want everyone to smile.” The top-notch performers include Trae Gurley, the Neil Brothers, Christy Alan Band, Steppin Stones, Club One Cabaret, the House of Gunt, Cusses, and ultimate male and female impersonators. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. in the park, where Edna Jackson, the Mayor of Savannah, will be greeting everyone just as she has done for the past four years. It’s the kind of goodwill gesture that proves this pride is truly for the city of Savannah and further adds to its southern charm. It makes perfect sense that it’s gradually becoming a “destination pride” as more gay couples flock to party and wedding plan since the supreme court has made their momentous marriage ruling. Hill says that pride reminds him of a “latter day Woodstock with nothing but happiness in the park.” Legendary Club One will also be hosting the Official After Party starting at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday once the park festivities have concluded.

avier Dolan is fulminating against the gay tag that typically accompanies his revered art films. Though indies such as Laurence Anyways, I Killed My Mother and Mommy have earned Dolan substantial queer cred, sexuality-based pigeonholing has been irksome for the 26-year-old cinema prodigy. Surely, however, it hasn’t stopped him from moving beyond those perceived barriers.

XD: You know what? It was originally planned as such. We shot a scene, but I feel like in the end it wasn’t what the movie was about. It wasn’t about romance; it was about something else. It was about a theme that is larger than sexual desire, even though it’s cool and, you know, sort of a nice supporting narrative to add tension, but it wasn’t something that needed closure or needed But first he’s making his press rounds for Tom at the Farm, an eerie to actually happen for real. drama centered on a young man (Dolan) asked to keep his sexuality on the DL while staying at his dead lover’s mother’s farm. I’m just hoping I can shoot John Donovan like I wish to shoot it in that we’ll be able to bring that movie to life, see it take shape and then share it with the world. The movie speaks again about diversity, and as much as I want to think of it as very commercial and appealing to a broader audience, I’m having a hard time convincing people of that. DA: You have said that your hope is that the line between “gay” films and non-gay films disappears. With that in mind, how do you feel about Tom at the Farm being touted as a “gay thriller”? XD: I’m not infinitely pleased. Let’s just try to fathom how a community would react if we’d call it a Jewish trailer or a black thriller. Tags and ghettos are not exactly my specialty. DA: How do we overcome these labels? XD: We just drop the word “queer” or “gay” and call it a thriller, that’s basically how we do it. It’s a very, very simple thing to do and we are extremely reluctant to do so. To stress the ghettos and labels and tags to which movies belong – I can hardly imagine what the positive impacts of those gestures of marginalization are. I can hardly imagine how those impacts can be positive. I’m trying to understand what exactly it’s doing to give a movie an award – a queer award – like the queer Palmes. In Cannes you can win a normal Palme and then you can win a gay Palme. The problem with ghettoization is that there are ghettos 50 | 9.2.15

prepare a romantic meal at my house. But the thought of cooking veggie-style makes me nervous. Can you help? Otherwise, we’ll be eating twigs & berries. Boyfriend Really Advocates Vegetarian Eating Preparing a meal for your diet-conscious date needn’t be scary. Just explore a bit of culinary adventure, BRAVE. Here’s a recipe requiring just a handful of ingredients that will satisfy anybody:
Dear Dom,
Every Single Question... Every Single Answer Dear Dom,
Mama Dom’s Made-In-Minutes Marinara. ½ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2 Large Onions Chopped 6 Garlic Cloves Sliced ¼ Teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper 2 Cups Hearty Red Wine 1 Large Can Whole Peeled Italian Tomatoes 10 Leaves Fresh Basil Lightly Chopped. In a deep skillet heat oil to shimmering. Add onions and sauté until translucent. Add garlic & pepper flakes. Barely cook for just two minutes. Add red wine. Stir and reduce wine to half. Crush tomatoes by hand and add to skillet. Simmer gently for 10 to 15 minutes. While marinara sauce simmers, cook one pound of penne rigate pasta to al dente doneness. Drain pasta and dump into skillet. Toss with fresh basil and plate immediately. Served with a crisp salad and a loaf of crusty bread, your veggie playmate might think you were born in Italy. He’s sure to exclaim, BRAVE, “Bravo!”
Dear Dom, Curved Cock...that’s what I’ve got. My prick bends to My boyfriend is in jail. He’s behind bars for 18 months the left. How can I straighten out my tool? on a minor drug charge. Should I visit him in jail or call it quits? It sounds like your bad boy beau is full of shit. The boner. It’s common. State of Georgia operates a drug court program that allows About 87% of all men’s cocks do lean left. That’s also about the many first time offenders to avoid incarceration. That he is servsame percentage of folks that are right-handed. Coincidence? Jelqing is a technique that might restore your rod to right. From the Arabic verb for “to milk,” to jelq is to massage the penis like a dairyman on a Holstein’s teat. Using a natural lube, cocoa butter is best, firmly grasp your shaft at the base with your nonmasturbation hand. Move your fist away from your body in a motion similar to milking a cow. Jelqing is also a good non-surgical method of penis enlargement. So even if you don’t get the crook out of your cock, you could be swinging a bigger bat. Will it work? The proof will be in the pudding; or something resembling pudding. Dear Dom, I think vegetarians are freaks. Now I’m dating one. Going out to dinner is a nightmare. So I want to 72 | 9.2.15
Jail visits are demoralizing. They’re scary. You’ll be thoroughly searched. Your friend will be wearing an ugly inmate uniform. It ain’t fun. If you wait for him to be released, you’ll be like standing for a long time all alone by the railroad tracks waiting for the Midnight Express.

The morning blues may bring out your insensitive side. Off-the-cuff remarks may be more biting than you think, so watch what you say before you say it. Having pals call you a thoughtless so-and-so will be no way to start the day.
Taking risks with your romantic life is not advised today. So don’t throw yourself at any Tom, Dick or Harry who gives you approving looks. You’ll have no idea what you’re getting into, and once he puts that dog collar on you, there may be no taking it off.
Sure, you used to have so much fun, way back when, with all those people that were so much more interesting and awesome. Oh, just stop it. Looking at your life through rose colored glasses with 20/20 hindsight would make anyone feel like crap. Life is good today -- enjoy it.
Thinking of someone special you met recently could weigh heavily on your mind today. You’ll look back with fondness on your brief encounter with Mr. Man, and you’d give him a call if you knew his name and his phone number.
Your passion for travel may be tempered by an anemic bank account. So relive past travels by going through photo albums of your many adventures. There’ll be pictures of you in Sydney, you in Vienna and you in Ibiza wearing nothing but a smile.
Don’t sign up for any arduous tasks or intense activities. In fact, don’t sign up for anything: Give yourself the entire day for you to do as you like. Left to your own devices, without plans, you’ll find unlikely and lovely activities.

Your bold ideas will be met with positive responses today, making for smooth sailing in anything you do. So try to come together with a group of folks and work on a common goal; your ability to lead your crew to an impressive result will be the talk of the town.
Impulse spending may buy you nothing but trouble today. It may be tough, but keeping your urges in check will be well worth it. Avoiding anything with the words, Dolce, Gabana, Burberry or Diesel will also do you a world of good.
You’ll feel on top of the world today and it will show. Your buoyant demeanor will grow as the day progresses -- as will your confidence in yourself. Using this optimistic energy to ask someone you like on a date could bring unexpected yet positive results.
Bold, daring and impetuous, you’ll blast through today like Speed Racer. You may not even know how fast you’re going as you whiz along. But look up ahead ... there’s Racer X, and he’s flagging you down, inviting you in for a pit stop.
It’s a good day to make karmic connections, so seek out people who strike a spiritual chord. You’ll have a renewal of spirit as you learn with your new friends how to bond with your inner selves. One guy in particular will show you a glimpse of heaven that you’ll want to see more of.
When faced with moral dilemmas you can always be counted on to do the right thing. While this may keep you from having as much fun as some of your more unscrupulous friends, at least you can sleep at night, even if it is alone.

Your opinion is not public opinion.
Having a lot of body hair is not a license for obesity. I’m tired of paying for your present and future health issues by being charged higher health insurance rates.

Keep Atlanta Beautiful. Drive with the convertible top up!
Sit down, Kanye! Burlap sacks are not fashion and Violet’s got the stage!
Over the past couple months most of my straight friends have asked if I’ll get married. Apparently I was not as closeted as I thought.
