Our reading challenge ends on April 30th. Remember to read at least 20 minutes at home and write the name of the books on the slip and return them to school. Our Bible words this week are, We believe that Jesus died and rose again. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 We have a ½ day tomorrow and are out Friday and Monday for Easter. Have a Blessed week and a Happy Easter. PRE-KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Heitman: Our reading board is filling up! I love seeing all the books we're reading at home! Today we had our fieldtrip to sing at the nursing home and our Easter egg hunt! Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to drive for us! We're now looking forward to our NEXT fieldtrip on May 8 th, to the Lost Creek Safari. The cost for this trip is $8, and we will again need parent volunteers to drive for us. Permission slips are going home today. Please return WITH MONEY no later than April 26th. REMEMBER: Tomorrow is a 1/2 day, No School FRIDAY or MONDAY! Have a blessed Easter! This week we are remembering what Jesus did for us, died on the cross to save us from our sins. We're talking about how He suffered for us, because He loves us! Our Bible words for this week are "we believe that Jesus died and rose again" - 1 Thessalonians4:14. KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Miller: Happy Easter to everyone! I would like to thank all the parents that made our egg hunt so fun! Wow, the school year is going by so fast! Please keep working on your child's sight words and books that come home in the Monday Folder. This fourth 9 weeks we have more words and I will be testing the children on all four sheets (1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th quarter) of the sight words for their report cards. Have a blessed Easter everyone! FIRST GRADE – Mrs. Birnbaum: Memory for Thursday is the 7th Commandment - You shall not steal. Thank you parents for helping to drive on our field trip. I love it that our kids can be a witness with their singing voices! Book orders were sent home on Monday. This will be the last book order of the school year and this would be a great time to be thinking about summer reading for your kids. It's very important to keep them reading during the summer! Book orders will be due by next Friday, April 26. Have a happy and blessed Easter! SECOND GRADE – Mrs. Powell: This week is Holy Week, a chance for us to ponder on all of the sacrifices Christ made on our behalf and to celebrate His love for us. Be sure to include worship in your Easter plans. You are always welcome to join us at First Lutheran. Worship is at 8:30 and 11:00. Many thanks to our wonderful parents who provided nutritious snacks during test week. They helped us power through. Blessings! -2-

THIRD GRADE – Mrs. Steichen: We did it!! ITBS testing is done. Thank you so much for all your support and extra prayers last week. Everyone did so well, and we are done. Thank you also to; Kinley, Cailyn, Lila, Peyton, Claire, and Caylee for bringing snacks for us last week. This week: Memory and Spelling Test on Thursday. Memory is Isaiah 26:19. Reading - we are making our way through The One and Only Ivan. The kids are starting to get into it, started off kinda slow. Math: Test yesterday and one next week after lesson 85. Science - we are finishing up our Unit on Motion. Be on the lookout for a test in the next week or so. Social Studies: Starting a new unit over our civil responsibilities. Grades: grades are all up to date in the grade book. Some of our work has been slipping. We only have a few more weeks left. If you have any questions, please let me know. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter. No school Friday or Monday, we also dismiss early on Thursday. FOURTH GRADE – Mrs. Sibley: They love the great variety! We are incubating three dozen eggs in three incubators! The kids are really EGGcited! Hatching should be around the 30th of April. Please help the kids to continue reading their AR books. Some of are doing great, on track for our 4th qtr goal; others may need more daily reading. Many students are needing redirection with classroom talking, and are having consequences for the unnecessary talking. We are still in need of assistance for baking for Rose Hill on the 25th. Mid-Quarter reports come out soon! Let’s have a solid footing to end the school year right. God’s peace as we worship Jesus as he took our sin for us. FIFTH GRADE – Mrs. Schatte: Some of us are trying very hard to stay focused and do our best, while some of us are acting like school is over. We will continue learning and having work to do for another month, so it is important to stay focused. Please visit with your child about doing his/her very best, and stay connected to Fast Direct. Grades are usually a good indication of how much effort is being made by your child. We will have a regular reading and spelling unit next week, even though it is four days. Happy Easter! What a blessing to worship the risen Savior!
