LOCKER ROOM CHECK
1
All coaches must be present in the locker room when children arrive. Coaches will report to the locker room entrance 5 minutes before children arrive to the locker room.
2
The Child Protection Policy must be carefully observed.
3
Children should be checked/assisted in preparing to enter the field.
4
Establish rules for proper management of locker room time before and after training.
5
Help the children to become independent as early as possible in changing to enter the field and preparing to leave.
6
Each child must be involved in the dressing room (with games, chants, etc.).
7
Encourage children to observe proper hygiene.
8
Ensure that no clothing is lost or traded among the children.
9
Ensure that all potentially dangerous items in the locker room are used correctly (coat hooks, benches, hair dryer, closed windows, etc.).
10 Before the arrival of players, check the locker room environment eliminating potential hazards (windows, wet floors, etc.). In case of any problems which cannot be resolved, contact sports centre staff. 11 In the locker room, the coach should monitor players, teaching them appropriate behaviour for the environment and preventing them from getting hurt. 12 When a single child is present in the locker room, leave the room and keep the door open, waiting for other players to arrive. Coaches and children should never meet one-on-one. 13 During the colder periods of the year, coaches must ensure that the players leave the locker room wearing appropriate clothing for the season and, above all, with dry hair. 14 The coach responsible for the group should never leave player alone in the locker room and can use this time for feedback regarding the planned activity asking specific and precise questions. This time is quite important for the professional growth of the coach. 15 Once children are dressed after a shower, the coach will escort them out of the locker room. There will be a coach responsible for personally receiving/returning children safely to parents. If for some reason the coach responsible for receiving/returning is not present at the door, the team coach will accompany children to the exit once all players are dressed.
