Section 1 Introduction Just as it is in all of the JSS activities and projects, the security and welfare of everyone involved in the JSS International Academy is of vital importance, whether they are the children, coaches, managers or others. This is why the figure of Chief Security Officer was created within the JSS International Academy organization. The position entails being responsible for supervising and coordinating all questions related to security. 1.1

JSS International Academy Chief Security Officers

I The Chief Security Officers (CSO) for sport season

are ............

The primary objective of the JSS International Academy is to have on-going improvement in the quality of its service. On-going improvement means always paying attention to details, so the Chief Security Officers must be especially attentive to the way they deal with the following:

·

Verifying the logistics of the playing fields and the dressing rooms

·

Verifying and restoring the good condition of how the locations are set up (tnt, sport, etc.)

·

Verifying that there are no dangerous materials on the playing field

·

Verifying and constantly urging the coaches to close the gates to the playing field once they go on the field with the boys

·

Making sure that the coaches and the boys do not run in the corridors between the locker rooms and the playing fields, and between the playing fields

·

·

Verifying the security status of the locations on a daily basis: -

playing fields (natural turf, artificial turf, enclosure, goals, benches, ….)

-

locker rooms (benches, hair dryers, clothes hooks, cleanliness, …)

-

passageways en route to the playing fields

Resolving problems or reporting the situation to JSS International Academy Head of Organizational Area

Section 2 Assessment reports 2.1

Structure Assessment Report

This first report (in Attachment 1) is necessary to assess the general and specific conditions of everything made available to the participants of the JSS International Academy: locker rooms, the equipment inside them, the area around the locker rooms, and the equipment on the field.

The report must be filled out carefully, dated, signed, filed at the Secretary’s Office and sent to JSS headquarters.

The JSS International Academy Head of Organizational Area and the JSS International Academy CSO must verify that any identified problems are resolved by the various people in charge.

Il JSS International Academy Head of Organizational Area and the JSS International Academy CSO can designate one member of the team (from 1° or 2° level) to help with them with the assessment.

2.2

Risk Assessment Report

·

The Report in question (attachment 2) is a general report that permits the JSS International Academy Head of Organizational Area to communicate to JSS Management any potential risk that might have a negative impact on the proper carrying out of the JSS International Academy activities.

·

After submitting the report via e-mail to the headquarters of JSS (which will keep

the

same

on

file),

the

JSS

International

Academy

Head

of

Organizational Area, with the help of JSS Management, will undertake to solve the problem(s) described in the Report.

In assessing the risks, the JSS International Academy Head of Organizational Area and the JSS International Academy CSO must pay close attention to every detail and verify the security in all the areas that members of the JSS International Academy spend time in. Therefore, the level of security in the following areas must always be considered:

 Playing fields  Enclosures around the playing fields  Locker rooms  Areas around the locker rooms under the responsibility of the JSS International Academy team

 Areas going from the locker rooms to the playing field  Fixed and portable soccer goals

Section 3 Before the JSS International Academy activities begin, the CSO must explain the security recommendations and rules listed below to everyone involved in the activities. They must also inform any new members of the team that may be added during the course of the JSS International Academy activities. 3.1

Health and Security Related to Equipment

The assembly and disassembly of equipment should always be done carefully to ensure maximum security for the entire team and all the participants of the group. At the beginning of any of its activities, JSS management takes out accident insurance for all of its coaches and all of its members. The CG Head of

Organizational Area and JSS Management ask you to follow the rules that the CG Chief Security Officers illustrate for the proper conduct of coaches to protect their safety. During the assembly or disassembly of equipment, when lifting heavy objects, it is very important to follow the following points to prevent the risk of accidents:

· Feet: place them so they point in the direction you will be moving, with the foot bearing the body’s weight at the side of the load, and the other foot placed behind the load, finding a position of equilibrium.

· Back and Legs: keep the back straight, the shoulders aligned in the same direction as the pelvis. Bend the legs, not the trunk.

· Grab: firmly grasp the object using the palm of your hands and the base of the fingers and thumb. When lifting boxes you should put one hand over the outside corner, tilt the load and then move your other hand slowly under the object.

· Chin: look forward with the head straight and the chin tucked in. This helps to keep the back straight and relieve pressure from the spine.

· Weight of the body: use the weight of the body to its best to help in lifting the load; use your leg muscles to stand up.

· When bending over, you need to continue to observe the preceding points, being careful not to catch your fingers or hands when putting down the load.

· If you have suffered a previous injury and have any doubts about lifting

the

equipment,

you

are

urged

to

point

this

out

to

administration before each job.

·

It is also important to get a medical certificate that documents any lesions and weaknesses you may have.

· We suggest that you comply with these recommendations when transporting “Equipment”.

路 Inflatable structures, rebound walls, and portable goals must be transported with another staff member; avoid doing it alone and especially with children when there is no supervision.

路 In the event that you do not follow the above-mentioned suggestions about lifting equipment and consequently suffer injury due to negligence, JSS will have no liability whatsoever for damages that could have easily been prevented.

路 This information has been provided in accordance with the security and guidelines.

3.2

Team Guidelines for Checking Security

The entire JSS International Academy team will work with the JSS International Academy Head of Area Organization and the

2. Always observe and monitor the cleanliness of all rooms (bathrooms, locker rooms) and ensure that they are satisfactory for the number of children attending the course.

3. The head of each group must constantly and frequently do a head count of the children in his own group and in the case of absence, immediately take action by following the operative protocol.

4. Ensure that children wear the appropriate clothing and shoes for the activity they are about to undertake.

5. Ensure that the children are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions, for example wearing waterproof clothing or hats to protect themselves from harsh temperatures.

6. The JSS International Academy team working for the physical/motor development of the child must have a good warm-up session before starting any activity to keep the possibility of an accident to a minimum. The session should be fun and include the use of the ball.

7. The JSS International Academy team working for the physical/motor development of the child must include a suitable cool down/relaxation session at the end of the activities.

8. The JSS International Academy team must make sure that the children have a sufficient amount of water and suitable liquids available when needed.

19. The entire JSS International Academy Team is provided with insurance against personal accident and public and civil liability.

Section 4 4.1

Security Management of environments

Location The JSS International Academy CSO must also verify, assess and remedy the security regulations for each environment listed below, and hand in the relevant attached report. a)

In all areas close to the playing field:

-

Verify that the condition of the structure is adequate and

presents no risks (crumbling plaster walls, conditions of the doors and windows, presence of dangerous elements, holes ...).

-

Verify that the entrance to the playing field is free or whether

there are any closing gates.

-

Verify whether the parking area is open to traffic (e.g. if the

children must cross a road to reach the sport centre).

-

Verify the condition and security of the waiting area at the

sport facility.

-

Verify the general cleanliness of the location and if the number

of trash bins is adequate. b)

Locker rooms Verify whether staff members only can enter the locker room or if it can be accessed freely by others. Respect the normal rules of hygiene and cleanliness. Prevent the use of electric sockets. Fix the benches and clothes hooks. Remove tables and chairs and any potentially dangerous items. Verify that the locker room is being used properly:

-

The coach must be present at all times to control the children’s behaviour.

-

Pushing each other, running, and pulling on objects are forbidden.

-

Standing on the benches is forbidden.

-

Mobile phones may not be used (by the coach or the children).

-

Use flip-flops when showering, for hygienic reasons and to avoid slipping.

-

Verify that the children have easy access to the wall hair dryers.

-

Prevent the use of hair dryers with cords because they are very dangerous around water.

-

Abide by all the rules in the Child Protection Policy.

-

Verify the presence and effectiveness of the air conditioning system and that is working properly.

-

Make sure that the fixtures are not hazardous to the children.

-

Encourage the use of footwear to prevent slips and sudden loss of balance on the wet floor.

c)

Passageways

-

Verify and remove any dangerous elements that may be present in the passageway en route to the playing fields (holes, stored materials,...)

d)

Playing field

-

Ensure that the surface of the field is in good condition and report the presence of any holes, depressions, drains, irrigation tubes, stones.

-

Verify that the surrounding wall and enclosure are at the regulation distance from perimeter of the playing field (min. 1.5 mt). They must also be in good condition, with no protrusions or rusty elements (typically the iron wires of the enclosing fence).

-

Verify that the benches are at the proper distance from the playing field and in good condition.

-

Verify that the goals are not dangerous and are in good condition (if portable, they must be adequately secured).

-

Whenever possible, remove the flags from the field, preferring foldable ones.

-

During training, use a zone of the field far from dangerous elements (walls, goals if not necessary, benches ‌). Also consider the proximity of another group, to prevent children from being hit with the ball or running into each other.

-

If there are any other dangerous elements on the field (light poles, constructions), they must first be padded according to the distance from the perimeter of the game.

e)

Teaching Equipment

-

Verify the condition of the teaching equipment (hurdles, boundary cones, balls, poles‌) eliminating those in poor condition.

-

Use equipment suitable for the age group to be trained (no high hurdles for small children to go over...).

-

Provide the boys bibs that are the right size for their height.

-

Place unused equipment in appropriate areas of the field and far from where the game is taking place.

-

Teach the children how to use the materials properly (go over hurdles from the right side, elastic bands not used as slingshots ...).

-

If using supports for portable goals poles, for artificial fields, verify that these supports are not missing the relative pegs or that they are stored in suitable areas (under benches, off the field).

-

Teach how to properly transport the equipment when leaving the field: e.g. poles with the tip resting on the ground, hurdles transported folded or not transported making them rotate, boundary cones collected in the special container and not thrown one on the other, ...).

-

The equipment must be deposited in an easily accessible area and in an orderly fashion so as not to pose a danger for the children who arrive later or for the people who are staying in the waiting area.

-

Always have a first aid kit and a bag of essential pharmaceuticals available on the field should there be need for the sudden intervention of the physician.

4.2

Self-Certification for Reading the SM

Before starting to work within the JSS International Academy, each Chief of Security must sign a self-certification stating they have read the security manual and are therefore aware of the behavioural guidelines for ensuring the security and welfare of the members of the soccer school. The document must be kept at the Secretary’s Office of the JSS International Academy and sent to JSS management.
