2015 In Pictures

It's that time of year again when we start to look back on the passing year, and whilst I know that people think in experiences, people, laughs etc I do mine in photographs. I have included my favourite shots of the year, not in chronological order as my brain doesn't work like that (as you may have seen if you read these). I hope you enjoy looking at them as I file them in 2015 and start thinking about 2016 which starts for me with the big new years day trip.

Davie

I remember this shot vivdly, it was on my birthday trip in January and to be honest the day was a bit of a washout...... I was on my way home, head down when I stopped for a coffee. Thats when this happened! I feel sometimes photographers are like big wave surfers, waiting for their set. I feel that to be a landscape photographer you need to have a zen approach, whatever nature gives you, you gratefully accept and work with.

As some people know about me I have no qualms as to what I use to achieve an image and the image to your left and the 4 following it were made using my iPhone 6. As I tell clients, you don't need top of the range gear to achieve meaningful images

One of my favourite shots, I had decided to once again drive the Bealach Na Ba to Applecross and to be honest it was a horrible day. Sitting in a roadside laybay I was being buffetted by rain and hail, thinking how the day couldn't get much worse and whatever deity heard me they produced this image right in front of me. A heavenly present indeed.

Trips don't have to be big, overthought affairs. The shot to your left was taken on a Saturday evening drive around Angus trying to alleviate my boredom.

A beach!! In Scotland !! It most certainly is ... this beach is beautiful and in the Western Highlands at Morar. A very tranquil place to sit and relax on the road to the isles.

So then, That was 2015..... Was it a good one? I think it was, artistically I think it was good and I hope you agree. As a brand I think I had a good year, I have secured another exhibition in my home town of Dundee for October 2016 and that is very exciting.
