A Retro-Introspective

Welcome to my end of year Retro-Introspective..... Every photograph I make is an introspective and I'm looking back at 2016, hence the Retro-Introspective. I find this kind of compilation good for me to arrange my thoughts on my photography year. The question I get asked is, was it a good year? And in all honesty that's hard to answer so the photographs will answer that for me. I made a massive change this year in changing from Fuji X-System to the Sigma SD Quattro and the reasons for this was I felt the Sigma would suit my 'style' and throughout the year I have found that to be true. This year has also seen my photography style and attitude changing from a 'contrived' look, a search for the perfect picture and conditions to a much more Organic style.... A zen like approach that means I will accept anything nature will allow me to shoot with a grateful smile. Also changing this year was my shooting schedule, I have always been a constant photographer but this I found that intensive bursts worked much better in that I get into a 'zone' for a few days and shoot as long as I have light. I will attempt to have the pictures shown in chronological order so that you, the viewer, can take the yearly journey with me.
