details 2
This is the second installment of the Details series of books. I like to think of these as the intimate side of Landscape Photography in that it takes me to the same places as my landscape photography but I concentrate on the details of nature rather than the big wide open shots. I feel that this type of photography has more feeling to it because you are looking at the finer points of nature, really looking... and in that looking you get an appreciation for .... something, something special, a deeper feeling, and you can only see this when you get close, very close. I will add the occasional quote throughout the book that sum up my feelings to a more spiritual and meditative side of photography. All of these images are available as prints, mounted prints and framed prints... All professionally done and sent direct. email for details davie.hudson@btinternet.com

Sensational Sakura
The following images are dedicated to my spring obsession ..... The Cherry Blossom. The Sakura is the ultimate symbol of impermanence, usually lasting about a month and that is what makes it special. They also symbolise a Japanese Aesthetic called Wabi-Sabi which is almost impossible to explain but in essence it is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete" and when the blossoms start to fall the images should have a sad and poignant feel, which let's be honest is my normal existance, and the reason why there is so many monochrome images in this selection. I hope you enjoy the cherry blossom images and I hope I have done them a justice in my portrayal

A Day Spent in a Forest
There is something magical about spending a day in an ancient woodland... Actually 'otherworldly' is maybe closer to the point, it takes you somewhere mentally, a place of peace and quiet happiness. The Japanese have a word for this, Shinrin-Yoku or 'Forest Bathing' which was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine, couple that with the mental health benefits and you have a beautiful combination. I see forests and woodlands as my spiritual home at the moment and I am fascinated by the shape and age of the trees. I hope you enjoy this selection of images. Davie Hudson
