musings
Pre-Autumn 2015
I have to admit that this issue of Musings is brought to you by ... well, boredom. Yes, boredom ... the very reason I decided to do it in the first place has once again taken me. As a photographer I have found there is a traditional downtime between Summer and Autumn, in that the former never happened and the latter holds all the hopes and dreams and those hopes and dreams are leaf shaped, coloured in browns, yellows and reds. As usual there will be photographs (all taken by me) and quotes (not by me) that I hope will inspire, or at least make you think a little. Davie Hudson

Easy Like a Sunday Morning What to do on a Sunday morning? Grab your camera and go shoot stuff.
Yes, I know I will go to hell for using selective colour and I should be ashamed of myself.... Let me be clear, I should be, but I'm not. Wherever you live there are photo opportunities when grabbing your camera and going out will always result in something interesting.
The Tay Rail Bridge shot with the Fuji XE-2 with 14mm lens
Recently I have been going through a phase of using an old manual lens on my Fuji XT-1. The depth of field is crazy and it make me think in a different way.
I love rust and old stuff, it's had a life and considering the ship it was attached to a very long one.
Have fun, even if it’s not the same kind of fun everyone else is having...... C.S. Lewis
Highland Safari.........
What happens when you go into the Scottish Highlands for 4 days with an iPhone, can you achieve something significant? You bet your sweet bippy you can.
I knew as soon as I'd set off that the pictures were never going to be bright, cheery and fun. I knew this because neither the weather nor my mood were going to allow it.
If you want to contemplate, cogitate and generally mull stuff over there is no better place to do it than amongst the mountains and waterfalls ..... Tell them whatever you need to, they will listen and then carry it with them, never to repeat it to another living soul.
Is it any wonder there are numerous poems and songs about this place? It has everything and anything you could want. I am more than happy to say I woke up next to this... You jealous?
There is a lot to be said for shooting what you have, as I stated everyone of these shots was with an iPhone 6, and as well as being shot they were edited on the same phone.
So, did I achieve something significant with my phone .... I'd like to think so. In the 4 days I was there I covered Glencoe, Glen Etive, Applecross and the Isle of Skye. I think the point is, whilst it matters to professionals what you use it doesn't to anyone else and to create memories all it takes is the phone in your pocket.
