spring musings
Spring, a very evocotive word and season...... What do you think of? For me it means life, colour, flowers, warmer days , lighter clothes and an almost poetic feeling. I truly believe photographers are the new romantic poets and if you look at a photograph and there is no feeling in it then it is pointless.... harsh maybe but true. Every one of the pictures here has feeling and emotions behind it ... happiness, sadness, solitude, peace, contentment, light and especially dark. Some will have more than one of those things but if you the viewer don't feel these emotions then I have failed in my mission. Along with these emotions a deep seated love for the environment and wilderness will be obvious. I won't be listing the 'kit' used in the making of these photographs because honestly is doesn't matter in the slightest, it never has and it never will to those who matter. As a photographer I am very prolific and the timeline for these photos is from 11th March to 18th May 2017. Thank you for viewing these shots and I sincerely hope you find something that makes you feel.

"These Are My Mountains And I Have Come Home "
These words are everthing!
A shot that took no effort at all, everything sat up for me. If I recall I never even got out of the car .... I was hungry and still had a way to travel to the nearest takeaway.
Photography and especially landscape photography can be boiled down to one word ... light, we all chase the light and we all worship the light. The light of a shot determines the mood, the feeling and the reception the shot receives.
This is me , doing what i do and loving it... at my favourite waterfall, at one with everything.
There are certain places where you question your place in the world ... there is also places that answer that question, leaving no doubt.... this is one of those places.
You have to have the darkness to appreciate the light ..... The light sections of these shots scream of hope to me. Even in the darkest clouds the light will shine through.
