Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington D.C. 150,000+ barbecue enthusiasts from all over the Washington, DC Metropolitain region flood the streets of the Nations capital every year for a three day festival of music, food and fun.

Tens of thousands of people will witness barbecue teams and restaurants from around the country competing to win the title of 2013 National Barbecue Champion. This competition offers your company a unique opportunity to reach a large and diverse consumer base. Safeway 21st Annual National Capital Barbecue Battle to be held on June 22-23, 2013 in Washington, DC. Your partnership will assist with financial obligations required to purchase equipment and supplies as well as help build a championship team for the Safeway BBQ Battle Competition.

DBBQIM has been participating in local Barbecue Contests within the DC Metropolitan area for the past two years and is proud to have 1st place trophies in the pork and chicken categories. We are proud members of the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS). We are eager to move forward with your partnership and participate in events at the national levels. (see attached form)

Safeway’s Barbecue Battle benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and celebrates the art of barbecue in a spirit of community, family and fun. This event has raised over $1.3 million for its beneficiaries.

MEET THE TEAM

DERRICK

DANIEL

A Marine veteran who has been cooking Memphis Style BBQ since 1994 for family and friends. Derrick has won local BBQ competitions in VA since 2011.

He graduated in 2011 from Stratford Universities Culinary Program and launched a BBQ Catering Business. He has also developed a BBQ Rub that has been sold in many diffrent countries.. His motto is Slow Down and Let me Grill for You.

Daniel is a multi-talented grillmaster that currently works for one of most prominant grill locations in Northern Virgina, Waters Edge Restaurant. Daniel has explored the world, and he has added the tastes of Brazil and Germany to his solid Pennsylvania-Dutch roots.

EUGENE

N A T E

Without the formal training and restaurant experience as the rest of the team members, Eugen has been grilling since he was 11. He grew up as a military child, like most of the Team Dyvine grillmasters and has curated a host of fusion tastes and techniques.

A veteran of twelve years in the restaurant business, Nathan has since moved on to the corporate world. His love of cooking, however, has remained strong throughout the years. He is a fan of dry rubs, long, low & slow smoke and holding court at the grill while the meat sears.
