SPOTLIGHT ON
• DCT hosts a community gathering built around each of our mainstage shows that is designed to welcome patrons in the area who for a variety of reasons don’t typically bring their children to shows.
• Findings from a study done by the National Endowment for the Arts informed the design of this program.
• At these pay-what-you-wish performances, we educate our attendees about how good theater is for the developing young brain and how great the experience is for family bonding.
• Since its inception in 2016, DCT has hosted 37 Neighborhood See-A-Play Dates and welcomed 5,876 guests to DCT.
• Some tickets are distributed through the City of Dallas Cultural Pass program.
• DCT is committed to making live theater affordable and accessible for all!
“My children absolutely love the see a play date. We were homeless and we were able to still enjoy the plays because of it. You never know someone’s circumstances, but that helped me keep my kids stable and their lives uninterrupted. They never knew we were experiencing homelessness. It was always a great experience for the kids. So thanks for letting my kids enjoy themselves…. They still talk about it today. They are always super excited to “see a play”. I think exposure is great for kids to really understand LIFE. They need numerous opportunities to explore and learn, because not everyone learns or views life the same way. It’s also an excellent way to get the kids more excited about reading. It’s one thing to read a book, but seeing it come to life is another engaging experience. I myself as an adult still enjoy childlike innocence...like imaginative play and fun. It’s what keeps us youthful and sound or grounded at times.”

DALLAS CHILDREN’S THEATER THANKS YOU!
List reflects gifts received as of December 15, 2022.
On behalf of the 250,000+ children and families served annually, we gratefully acknowledge our donors who through their contributions made it possible for DCT to present over 500 performances of high quality, professional theater for youth and families. Although program space limits our ability to publicly recognize only donors of $500 and above, we deeply and sincerely appreciate every contribution. As ticket sales cover only half our costs, your annual financial support is critical to introducing North Texas children to the magic of live theater. Should you wish to be added to this extraordinary list of donors or suggest corrections to our list, please contact the DCT Donor & Corporate Relations Department at (214) 978-0110 and THANK YOU!
