Unique is the word that we always land on when we talk about this guy! Here’s a 71% Homo Black, Homo Polled herd sire who is as good looking as you can make one. The even cooler part about this guy is he’s not just a pretty look from the side, when you get in behind him he is powerful and comes out of his spine with a tremendous amount of turn and shape of rib. To top it off he offers a pedigree that allows for tons of mating flexibility. Sired by a son of the Jr Nationals & NAILE Reserve female, GHGF Cailsta, who ties back to the great Perri cow family who’s been so productive through the years for us and out of a very productive GHGF Shear Force first calf heifer. We used this guy’s dad to bred heifers for a season and lost him way too early after seeing what he did with limited use. Take advantage here, it’s not often one comes along in a Homo Black, Homo Polled high % package with this kind of look and build and boasts a pedigree that offers tremendous mating flexibility! Retaining 50% semen interest.

I don’t know that we have been more fired up about a mating than we are about this one! This guy and his two sisters that are also selling are a product of mating what we feel are the best two animals to come out of our program! Out of the $57,500 valued syndicated National Champion GHGF Man O War sire and the GHGF Delilah 655D donor who was the 2019 Supreme Balancer female at Jr Nationals and 2018 NAILE Jr & Open show Champion female. Not only has their dam excelled in the ring but she went on to be just as impressive in production: selling her first calf GHGF Dodge City for $13,000 and maintaining a 339 calving interval while being conventional flushed and raising 3 bull calves to a 730 avg weaning weight. Let me be the first to say boy did this mating exceed all of our expectations and then some! Not only does Chasing Dreams offer a pedigree that’s second to none but he is just as impressive in person! Not often does one offer this kind of look and presence while still bringing a ton of mass, and power; yet still staying so good in their body shape and can flat out move. While posting very respectable weights and offering a strong set of numbers. This guy is one we think has a ton to offer and can bring a fresh pedigree that’s proving to get the job done in all aspects. Retaining 50% semen interest.

Rumfelt’s Prime Time H96G ET is a homozygous polled, full brother to the 2021 Reserve Grand Champion Balancer Female, KARR H96E ET and the $9,600 high-selling Kentucky Beef Expo female, KARR Trina H96F ET. What a tremendous opportunity to share in the genetic potential of this powerhouse herd sire prospect! Prime Time’s sire, Deer Valley Growth Fund, is making a name for himself producing top Balancer genetics with outstanding eye appeal, performance, and EPDs. His dam, Long Haul Princess E96A, is one of our best females. Her flush to Growth Fund has produced many outstanding individuals. Prime Time is a powerfully made, structurally correct Balancer bull that is a great one in the show ring and will produce the front pasture kind. He was the Reserve Champion Balancer Bull at the 2022 National Balancer Show, where his full brother, Mr. Gambler, was the runner-up futurity bull. Be sure to study his EPD profile. It’s hard to find a herd sire prospect of this quality that possesses outstanding EPD strength. We are offering the last two packages on Prime Time H96G ET at the Kentucky Beef Expo. More importantly, she is backed by one of our most productive females. Her July birthday is simply because her dam kept backing up in the fall breeding. I really didn’t expect her dam to stick when I strawed her to Leverage for a July calf. This year I held her back or she would have moved into the spring calving season. 274J’s pedigree reads like a who’s who of the Gelbvieh breed. If you study her pedigree you’ll find she traces back maternally to the dam of JBOB 92C! Her EPD profile is easy to work with as well with many of her traits in the top 25% of the breed. You’ll definitely be glad you added this young lady to the herd.

HILC GEORGINA 238H is the first daughter of our many time champion herd sire, HILC All Star 500D, that we have offered to the public. Our Gelbvieh program is small and we had a few opportunities to sell All Star while on the show road however we chose to keep him and build our program around him and his cow family and we cannot be more pleased in that decision. Georgina 238H is a beautifully designed female that is big middled and yet maintains elegance up thru her front end. Her dam stems from the everpopular Champion Hill Georgina cow family that has been a mainstay in Angus genetics throughout the country. She sells AI’ed to the calving ease sire of champions, EGL Lifeline B101. Buy with confidence; this is a Balancer female to build a herd around. AI’ed 1/28/22 to EGL Lifeline B101 (AMGV1298079).

Man what an opportunity here! These two females are as good of animals as we have ever offered at Expo and honestly in our opinion the best two heifers we had last fall! This pair of ET sisters have been one we have been super excited about from the word go and a set of females that we have been back and forth on which one we like better since they were weaned and we still can’t decide which one we like better so we figured we would let you take your pick and tell us which one is the best! Just as we said in their brother’s footnote we couldn’t be more excited about this mating and think they are a product of the best two animals we have ever produced. We think when you all see this set of ET sibs you will agree that these are the right kind that will not only show with the best of them but will go on to be the next big donors and herd sire that have the ability to leave an impact on any program and the breed. Take your pick here between these two, either way we don’t think you can go wrong; both will be big time players at this summer’s JR Nationals and into next fall! 65H1 was just named division champion at the national show in OKC and we aren’t so sure that if we would have had the room on the trailer that the 65H2 wouldn’t have taken her spot at the back drop! Ryan F. Quarles Commissioner
Kentucky Department of Agriculture Dear friends, Welcome to the 36th Annual Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo! After nearly two years of the coronavirus pandemic, I am grateful for the opportunity for us all to participate in this staple of Kentucky’s agriculture calendar once again. Every year at the Beef Expo, Kentucky cattle producers show and sell some of the best cattle in the country to buyers looking to upgrade their genetics or take home a show project. This event is truly the place for the beef industry on the first weekend in March. Over the years, we’ve seen ups and downs in the beef cattle market and 2021 was no exception. The coronavirus brought incredible pressures on our food and agriculture sectors. In many ways, we are still fighting with some of the effects of those pressures, including long waitlists and backlogs at meat processors across the country. I want you to know that I hear you. That’s why the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, the Kentucky Office of Agricultural Policy, and the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board moved quickly in May of 2020 to develop a meat processing expansion program that has invested nearly $7 million in tobacco settlement and CARES Act dollars in 36 small U.S.DA.-inspected meat processors across our state. Despite the pressures from the pandemic on our food supply chain, economists from the University of Kentucky recently reported that net farm income for 2021 could be as high as $2.5 billion, a number they noted would be the highest since 2013. They also projected for us to end the year with record beef exports. The trends suggest that continued global demand for beef will improve prices for calves and feeder cattle in 2022. We know that off of this sounds nice, but we continue to keep a watchful eye on the rising cost of inputs and inflation. In the last year, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA)’s Office of State Veterinarian has continued working with USDA, Kentucky’s two veterinary diagnostic laboratories, and private veterinary practice to protect Kentucky livestock and poultry from foreign animal diseases and eradicate outbreaks. And critically, our Division of Shows and Fairs continued supporting shows all through the pandemic. If you see a member of the KDA team, please join me in thanking them for their work. More so than usual, a lot of work went into making this event possible in this year. As always, I wish to thank Kentucky Venues CEO David Beck and his team for the many hours that went into hosting this event. Again, welcome, and best wishes on an enjoyable and successful Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo. If I or any of my staff can be of service to you, please don’t hesitate to ask. Sincerely,
Ryan F. Quarles

Welcome to the 2022 Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo Welcome to the 2022 Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo.
This year marks the 36th for the Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo and we are excited to see all who have come to buy, show, and sell some of the best cattle in the country. Over the years, I have seen the growth that has taken place with the Expo because of the dedication we see in our producers and the commitment our agriculture industry has made to our cattle industry. I send out a special thanks to all those who have worked so hard to make this event one of the premiere livestock shows anywhere. Many of you have been involved for a number of years and I want you to know your dedication does not go unnoticed. As we look to the future of our cattle industry, we can take great pride in knowing Kentucky has emerged as one of the top cattle producing states in the country. I hope this year’s Expo will be beneficial to all of you and I look forward to another successful Expo event. But while we are enjoying being together during this special time, let’s remember those who have been affected by the recent storms that swept through Kentucky, as well as the COVID outbreak that has been with us over the last two years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to these folks as we continue to move forward on the farm and in our rural communities. The resiliency of our farm families is remarkable, and as we gather together in this place at this time to celebrate our farm heritage, my wish for each and every one of you is for a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2022. Sincerely,
Mark Henry President “Voice of Kentucky Agriculture”
