Hello Friends,

It brings me great pleasure to welcome you to the second annual Locust Hill Cattle Co. production sale. The inaugural sale last year was a dream come true. Thank you to everyone that attended, supported and purchased cattle last year. Realizing that nothing would be possible without God, it is my faith that continues to reveal to me how blessed I am to have the family, friends, staff and customers that He has put in my life. “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!” 1 Chronicles 16:3

The success of last year’s sale provided inspiration to once again offer our genetics to the public. In 2023, we are happy to offer a set of bulls and females that are from top to bottom a very sound, easy fleshing, stout, with growth performance that will add pounds at weaning. All with a genetic package that adds fertility and maternal strength in your herds.

Our focus at Locust Hill is to produce Gelbvieh and Balancer cattle with an emphasis on calving ease, fertility, growth, docility and carcass. We achieve this through an intensive AI and embryo transfer program which utilizes the best genetics that the breed has to offer. This would not be possible without the dedication, knowledge and support from Greg (Bubba) Anderson. Bubba continually makes the “right” decision with breeding which advances our genetics. There is no better evidence than to take a look at the offering in this, our second, production sale.

As many will agree, family is the greatest blessing of all. This undertaking would not be possible without Nikki’s continued love and support. I am thankful for our sons and their families along with our first granddaughter, Hallie, born this past year. This cattle venture takes a lot of understanding and backing from them all for which I am grateful. The time and commitment of the farm crew is also so appreciated. Adrie, Molly, Jonathan, Kyle, Jesse, and Grant, thank you. We at Locust Hill Cattle Co. hope you will find visiting the farm or reading about our offerings enjoyable and informative. Raleigh has been a standout since birth and his brother Cary is not far behind. Power and performance is the best way to describe these two E158 sons. They are big topped, big hipped, and big middled. These bulls have a good foot and are sound on the move. They both rank in the Top 15% WW, Top 4% CREA. Their dam B41 is a calving ease specialist and has a near perfect udder. They will work in any purebred herd in the country.

It was a hard decision on who to make Lot 1 between Raleigh and Lot 3 Master Chief. Take nothing away from this red bull. He is a powerhouse. He is long sided, long and clean through the front third and is sound on his feet and legs.

Lot 3 and Lot 4 are flush mates. Their dam TJB 249Y is still a top producing donor at the age of 12. She also has two ET heifers in this sale. That’s the kind of productivity you expect from this cow family which goes back to the great TJB 337M.

She is however, a natural calf out of JK 395 Rose which goes back to our very successful Razzy donor. 2114 is out of our senior herd sire, Cockburn Cowboy Up 718 who was the high selling bull at Cockburn’s 2018 bull sale in Canada. TERMS: Terms of the sale are cash, check, credit card, or other terms agreed to in writing between seller and Locust Hill Cattle Company payable immediately upon conclusion of the sale before animals will be moved. Locust Hill Cattle Company reserves the right to require certified check a settlement before releasing any cattle.

PURCHASER’S RISK: All animals are the owner’s risk prior to their sale and become property of the purchaser as soon as declared sold by the auctioneer.

BIDDING: Any disputes or challenges regarding bids or tie bids will be settled by the auctioneer and his decision will be final.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: A certificate of registry for each animal as applicable will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Any errors or changes in information contained in the catalog will be announced from the block. Such announcements shall take precedence over the information contained herein.

HEALTH: All animals are eligible for interstate shipment. Interstate health papers prepared by an accredited veterinarian will be furnished on each animal sold. Arrangements for international shipment should be made with Locust Hill Cattle Company prior to the auction.
