Cib’s Gelbvieh & Balancers

19th Annual Bull & Female Sale March 1, 2025 - 1:00 pm
Fellow Cattle Enthusiasts,
Are we having fun yet?! If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say, “This cattle market can’t go any higher”, and they were wrong, I’d be a wealthy man. Certainly it is easy to be optimistic in these times! Good cattle are bringing good money. Heck, even not so good cattle are bringing good money! We all know this roller coaster ride we are on will eventually level back off, and the good cattle are what will keep us going in this business.
Here at Cib’s Gelbvieh and Balancers, we demand our females to produce more with less! We continue to work at our goal to produce more pounds of calf with the fewest inputs and resou rces possible. With our extensive grazing system we use just about half of Iowa’s average acres per cow and still produce the offspring you see in this catalog. Our calves are NEVER creep fed at any point, this allows us to see their true genetic potential and identifies our highly maternal cow families that can raise big calves without artificial and extra inputs.
Our bulls are grown differently than most seed-stock producers. They aren’t raised in a feedlot setting where they only have to walk 30 yards to feed and water. They roam a 10 acre paddock allowing them plenty of exercise to make meat instead of fat. They aren’t pushed to try and achieve big yearling weights. They are raised slowly to ensure longevity and fertility. We want them to be able to cover lots of acres come breeding season. Our goal is to have bulls that last for you, our customers. The bulls were pictured and videoed in early December, so they have changed alot since then. We welcome visitors anytime prior to the sale to evaulate the offering!
Come early to check out the cattle, visit, and enjoy some cinnamon rolls and coffee. A hot beef sundae lunch will be served from 11:00 to 1:00. The auction will be broadcast over DVAuction. If you can’t make it to the sale, on-line and phone bidding will be available. Thank you to all of our past customers for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you and also meeting some new friends on March 1st!
Sincerely,
Cib’s Gelbvieh & Balancers

We are proud to present these outstanding full brothers that we showcased at the National Western Stock Show in Denver and were blessed to take home the honor of Reserve National Champion Pen of 3 Gelbvieh bulls. To say the mating of General Patton to our Hannah donor cow was a success, might be a little bit of an understatement. These are 3 true beef bulls that encompass the foundational traits of the Gelbvieh breed. Maternal, fertility, longevitity, and growth have been bred into their pedigree for generations. Their dam has truly never missed. She has had 8 natural bull calves that have all been sale highlights. Her only heifer has been retained in our herd. I could go on and on about these three bulls, but here is a quick synopsis of each.
Lot 1: The most stylish, cleanest made of the brothers. EPD’s rank in the top 20% for CE, top 15% for BW and top 30% for Milk. Combines length, thickness, and smoothness.
Lot 2: Heifer bull prospect. CE ranks in the top 3% yet still has growth EPD’s in the top 30%. Long and extended front third.
Lot 3: Chuck full of red meat and three-dimensional shape, this bull was one of the thickest, stoutest made purebreds in Denver. Big boned with a tremendous foot. Top 10% calving ease. We plan to add him to our AI program this spring.

OZ 77K ET CIBS
If this bull was homo polled, he wouldn’t be for sale! Growmark took off and never looked back! Massively constructed from the ground up. Top 1% WW and YW. Will make very profitable feeders. Find him, buy him, and rake in the dough!

Lot 9 hails from one of my all time favorite cow families and whose mama is a Dam of Distinction. We’ve bred all of her daughters and every son has made the sale. Ozmossis is well balanced and powerfully built. A really
one!

If you need to add some power and frame, Chopper is your guy! He sports some of the best EPD in the offering. His picture doesn’t do him justice. He’s one you need to see in person. Major herd bull! Out of a Dam

INFINITE 30C
CIBS KAYLA 0516
A top purebred herd bull candidate. Bad picture, but awesome bull. He is thick from top to bottom, front to back. His dam will enter our donor program. All Flex has great EPD’s,

and they are

This bull exemplifies the sire group well. Stout, ideal frame, easy keeping,

Maybe one of the most eye appealing packages in the sale. I love the head and neck on this guy along with the thickness and dimension throughout his build. Possible heifer bull candidate. His females should be outstanding!

Sometimes a calf just knows they are destined to be a bull. Mac Daddy is one of those. He was chasing cows in heat before he was even big enough to lick his own butt. Built on a massive skeleton, he has the added depth and length of spine to increase pounds of calf weaned. His young At Ease dam has weaned 4 calves at a 116 ratio! His growth EPD’s rank him top 5% for WW and 10% for YW and he’s top 3% for Milk and Total Maternal! What other combination can you want in a Gelbvieh bull? Maternal and growth in an eye appealing package! His full brother sold to Twin View Livestock in Canada last year and they immediately used him in their AI and ET programs!

At catalog time we still haven’t figured out who this bulls sire is. Regardless, he’s a larger framed, long spined bull who crushes it in the EPD field. Top 2% REA. Top 4% WW, YW, FPI and YG. And still in the top 20% for CE!

Elderado has sure turned on the burners in the last couple months! Can’t walk through the sale pen without noticing this stud. He’s long, thick, and has a nice square hip! Fluid in his movement, this is a bull that can add value to a calf crop!

BRED FEMALES & PAIRS

CIBS MS VIROQUA 3964L Lot 32

Here is a sale highlight female from our ET program. The 8101U donor cow has over 215 progeny recorded. We flushed her for the last time this spring, so her offspring is highly coveted. This Baller daughter resembles her dam in many ways; soft made, deep bodied, and she has the same hip and muscle pattern. The mating to the Triple K Husker AI sire should produce an exciting result. We are keeping a full sister and plan to have more 8101 offspring coming in the future, but it’s hard to say if we will let many daughters go. Don’t miss this opportunity!
PE to DCH Triple K Husker from 5/4 - 10/12. Expected due in February/March with a 94% Purebred calf.

When Chris Mitchell screened for the expo, he saw this one and said, “That’s a dang good heifer.” Terrible picture, but dang good heifer! Elite EPD’s with the phenotype to match! Top 10% WW and YW. Tie into this purebred!
