The Judd Family Dear Gelbvieh friends, Hello from Judd Ranch! Cindy and I and the whole family invite you to spend October 7th & 8th with us at the ranch. Please note the change in our sale day to Saturday, October 8th and this year the sale will start at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Our 21st Annual Cow Power Female Sale is packed with females we feel will add value and quality to your programs. Many of our past customers tell us they have had our Cow Power Female Sale date on their calendars for the past year and treat it as an annual vacation. If you have never been to Judd Ranch and are interested in knowing more about Gelbvieh cattle or would just like to check out our herd, you are warmly invited to attend. It is very common for our good customers to have attended a sale or two before buying anything and we welcome you to do the same. If possible we hope you can make it on Friday, October 7th to walk through and inspect the sale offering and have your questions answered. We remain focused on our goal of producing Gelbvieh cattle in the complete package of calving ease, fertility, growth and carcass. We were truly honored to be recently named the #1 Breeder and Owner of Dam of Merit females for the fourteenth consecutive year and we owe it all to our “Cow Power females. Our popular judging contest will be another highlight of Saturday, October 8th. We have made plans to again offer both adult and junior judging contests. We will have three divisions: adults (over 21 years), senior (13-21 years) junior (for the 12 and under set). The events we have planned include: Thursday, October 6

Cindy and I are thankful for our lives here at Judd Ranch. We are grateful to our hard working family and feel so fortunate to have them live close. I know I don't tell them often enough how important they are to the success of the ranch. We are also blessed to be able to see our special grandchildren daily, Lily, who is seven, Levi, who turned four in April and Lacy our 1 1/2 -year-old. Please make plans to be with us at Judd Ranch on October 7 & 8 for an enjoyable couple of days in the Flint Hills. We would also thank our many past customers for your faith in Judd Ranch genetics and in us.

Breeders, with 25 years of Gelbvieh sale records of homozygous polled progeny sold compared to heterozygous polled progeny, Cattleman's Connection stats show a minimum of 25% added dollar value for progeny selling as homozygous polled and you will be the beneficiary when these sale animals start producing for your program. Take a glance at JRI Ms Kate 148X70’s Dam of Distinction dam nursing her brother in the photograph below and wowsa, wouldn’t you like to have a program full of calf raising machines like her? Ms Kate’s calf raising machine mama JRI MS Eternal Echo 148K60 was honored as an elite 2010 Dam of Distinction female in her first year of eligibility. Dam of Distinction mama 148K60 flat strolls home every fall with a dandy baby. To date 148K60 has produced four sons and these super studs have averaged $4,575 in the annual Judd Ranch bull sales. How good are the 148K60 daughters? Well, I’d say mighty good as her daughter 148U30 strolled home with a whopping 704# 205 day weight baby her first year. As most of you already know Judd Ranch’s breed leading sire JRI Top Secret 253M75 ET was injured several years ago and his semen inventory is basically gone so gather up these Top Secret daughters as they are calf raising machines. Top Secret was one of those rare finds in any breed. His daughters are beautiful deep ribbed big time producers. His sons feature incredible calving ease coupled with unbelievable beef, butt and guts and to date 309 Top Secret sons have averaged a whopping $4,320 through Judd Ranch’s annual bull sale. With four previously honored Dam of Merit females in Ms Sunshine’s pedigree she should make a big time producer for your program. 2011 Fall EPDs: CE 109; BW -0.5; WW 28; YW 65; M 12; TM 26; GL -3.4 and CED 102.
Don't shy away from JRI Ms Regan 92X41 because of her subpar weaning weight as her dam Bobbie 82L3 has been a calf raising machine. Matter of fact, super mom 82L3 has been honored as a Dam of Merit female in every year of eligbility ('06 thru 2010) and yes, I call that calf raising machine genetics. Dam of Merit mama 82L3's last son 82T40 sold in the '09 bull sale with a ripping 719# 205 day weight for $5,200. The year before her son pegged the 205 day weight scales at 683 pounds and sold for $4,000. Yep, 82L3 has been a calf raising machine and her only daughter (82U4) in the herd strolled home with a scale busting 736# 205 day weight baby her first year. 2011 Fall EPDs: CE 108; BW -0.2; WW 22; YW 70; M 14; TM 25; GL -1.5 and CED 102.

JRI Ms Elsie 230X91 features five stacked generations of homozygous polled sires in her pedigree and you can do the math here as Ms Elsie’s probably homozygous polled. This beef machine is flat loaded with beef and his sons are beef packing machines just like him and I might add the Cowboy Cut purebred sons in the spring bull sale averaged $5,200. The Cowboy Cut daughters are spacious made beauties with a world of natural rib, volume and ease of fleshing. Cowboy Cut’s super dam JRI Ms Pld Grand Prix 213G57 is one calf raising machine that has already been honored four times as a Dam of Merit and once as a Dam of Distinction and I might add 213G57 is one of Judd Ranch’s top donor females. 2011 Fall EPDs: CE 105; BW 2.1; WW 31; YW 67; M 14; TM 30; GL -3.0 and CED 102.
