Welcome On behalf of the Prairie Gelbvieh Alliance Bull Sale group we would like to welcome everyone to the 12th annual PGA bull sale. We have all enjoyed the prices from selling calves the past several months and the way things are looking, the prices may still be on the rise for feeder calves and replacement females for years to come. As cattle producers this is the time we need to capitalize by making the most money we can and the most important part of this puzzle starts with your new herd sire. We feel the PGA sale group have bulls for all types of cow herds that will help increase calving ease, add strong maternal traits and most importantly the pounds we all are looking for at selling time. As we all know from the past mother nature sometimes decided to drop a storm in on sale weekend so don’t hesitate to contact the Selins, Thackerys and Fladelands prior to the sale to make arrangements or even stop by and view the bulls in the pens at home. Terms & Conditions Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque. All settlements must be made with the clerk following the sale before any cattle will be released. Disputes: Bidding will be re-opened between the parties involved in the dispute. If no further bids is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The Auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final. Breeders Guarantee: BULLS - Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on females known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. The seller will not responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price of the bull in any event. The consignor will not provide replacement or credit for physical injury or mismanagement. He was the calf at side FLAD 110P when she was named the 2010 Reserve Champion Female at Canadian Western Agribition. His dam FLAD 110P is one of our donor cows and has a tremendous udder. Our junior herdsireN FLAD Boogyman 28A is a maternal brother to Bourbon.

BLB The Rock 7Y – We had high hopes for Rock
RWG Texas Worth 9223 – This is our first calf crop from RWG Texas Worth. We purchase him as a mature bull from Royal Western Gelbvieh and pin to point Gelbvieh for his calving ease, style and dark hair coat. Reports are the Texas Worth daughters in production are top notch. We lost RWG Texas Worth at the end of the 2012 breeding season due to an injury, so don’t miss out on your chance to add some of his genetics into your herd.
when we purchased him in the fall of 2011 from the Benz family at Goodview Gelbvieh. This is the first sale offering from Rock and he has done nothing but surpass expectations. Rock calves have tonnes of thickness and hair. We are retaining a large number of his females in our heifer pen. Rock sired the 2013 Peoples’ Choice Futurity Champion in Red Deer Alberta.

Congratulations to Kevin and Linda Staple from Bengough Sk, who were awarded the 2013 Man/Sask Commercial Gelbvieh Breeder of the year! Kevin and Linda have been long time supporters of the PGA bull sale. The ManSk Gelbvieh Association selects a Commercial Breeder of year, one from Manitoba and one from Saskatchewan. The ManSk Gelbvieh Association is pleased to announce that the Commercial Breeder of the year for Saskatchewan is Kevin and Linda Staple. Kevin and Linda run a mixed farm at Bengough which is located near the Big Muddy, they run approximately 90 cows that are Gelbvieh influenced. The heifers are bred to calving ease Gelbvieh bulls and the cows are bred to high performing Gelbvieh bulls. When asked why they run Gelbvieh bulls and maintain a Gelbvieh cow base they say that they start to calve March 20 and the weather can be very unpredictable at that time so they need the calves to be born unassisted and have extra vigor at birth and Kevin adds that he sure likes the mothering ability, extra milk and the temperament the Gelbvieh cows have. They sell their calves the first week of November at Assiniboia and are very impressed with the weights of the calves each year. The Staples have used Gelbvieh bulls for 10 years and will continue for years to come. For their appreciation and dedication to the breed Kevin and Linda received a nice farm sign on behalf of the ManSk Association.
